Im setting up the connections to my fuel rail, but need to figure out the best way to do it.
I have quick connect fittings that convert to -6 AN, then -6 AN ends and hose. The problem comes in going from ss hose to hard line. They don't sell a 5/16 to -6 adapter (like they do for my 3/8), and for whatever reason I can't find a listing for a 3/8 to 5/16 (female to female) adapter. The other option would be to use the compression fitting to -6 an fittings, but I'm concerned about using compression fittings on 50+psi in my fuel system. Opinions? I need to get this figured out asap.

I should add, my connections @ the rail are 3/8 feed and 5/16 return. My hard lines are 3/8 and 5/16 respectively also.

You are looking for a 5/16" OD compression to -6AN Male? Compression fittings are fine for hydraulic systems we build at work. I know the 50psi is not an issue. My only concern is my lack of fuel system experience. As far as vendors, Aeroquip, Paker, Swagelok, should be able to get you straight on what is required. Have you tried Clint at C&S in Butler? They have a pretty good inventory in stock.

both of these are 5/16" to -6 unless I am misunderstanding what you are looking for.

I have either a 5/16" to -6 or 3/8" to -6 at the shop brand new. I'll check tonight

Thanks guys, I kind of muddled my words together.
1. are those compression to AN safe for 50+psi. The earls on Summit say (Rated to 50psi) and none say anything higher.
2. The second question was, if I have to use tube nuts etc, is there a 5-16 to 3/8 female to female brake line adapter? If I can't use the compression fittings, I would have to use something like this.

Basically I want the go-ahead from someone with efi experience that these are ok to use, so I don't get all paranoid about engine fire.

This is what I have at the shop, this is what we used on the S10

cool, those are the same quick connects I'm looking at for the rail side.
Did you guys use the compression - AN fittings on the s10 as well?
I brought the question up on another forum, and have half saying "ya the compression fittings are fine" and others saying "stay away from those on high pressure systems". Too much damn conflicting info.

We used socketless AN fittings on the entire fuel system and transmission lines for the cooler

I had a ford truck with the 4.9l and rail pressure was ~65psi and it had a compression fitting in the feed line installed after the exhaust installer arced the egr pipe to the rail and started a small fire... as long as you are not using incompatible plastic stuff it will be fine.

aight thanks.
Does this sound right then
3/8 supply from tank (hardline) into engine bay. then tube to AN adapter ->AN hose end->-6 Hose->AN hose end->AN to 3/8 quick connect -> Rail
Same for the return but all in 5/16

Make sense?
