speakers

i got some new speakers for my car and they have wierd connectors. The old one is a plug and the new one is just wires that are pre-stripped. should i go to best buy and see what harness they would use or should i cut the old connector off and just solder the wires together? if i do that black is negative right? btw the speakers are pioneer 3-way. lmk

I just cut the connector off and soldered the wires on. The speakers worked fine. (FYI I had a '93 Tbird 5.0 and put Pioneer 3 ways in it)

Just cut off the old connectors and put standard male/female connectors on the old wires and new speakers.

intelman do you know what color was negative? i could find out but i am super lazy!
