Hell that's real close to what school is costing, haha

That's my dream car right there!

$96K......no thanks. I could think of at least 10 other muscle cars I would spend that kind of money on!

Hahaha, Everyone has what they like. I love those big ole '61-'64 Nostalgia super stock type cars. Especially the rare factory ones like that. Aluminum front ends, etc...

There was that old '63 Lemans that wasn't even together, that was an original aluminum front end car and didn't even have the front end with it. I think the front end was somewhere else, and that still sold for what most cookie cutter muscle cars are going for today, haha.

Chris I do like those, but way too much coin for what it is.

Friggin sweet. I sent that to Jay a couple days ago.
I wonder if he would trade me for a Chevelle?

The beauty of cars like that imo are that they are utterly recreateable. You could just find a run of the mill catalina w/ a six banger and build it to what you like...421, check. 4, 5 or 6 speed? check. 4 wheel disc (or drum, it's up to you), check. 12 bolt diff (or 9"/dana 60), check.

You could have that car configured for much less, drive much better, not harm the value by driving/racing for a LOT less than 100,000g, that's for sure...

Hory Clap $110K reserve not met. I couldn't spend that kind of money on a car even if I had it. Cool car though.

a TRUE SD Catalina is worth mega coin. $100k is nothing for one of these cars. While I love love love this Ebay car, I agree with Valiant on this however...just build the Catalina you want Chris. Find a nice clean Texas car, build a 470+" Poncho motor dressed up like the 421, toss in the 4-speed and there you go. Pretty much the same idea as my car. A real 409 car is too pricey...so I'll just make one....and mine you can drive!

when have I ever driven anything I've owned? haha

I still would want this particular one for the nostalgia. It's the owning a piece of history, a rare piece. That's why something like this tugs at the heart strings.

I get what you are saying though for sure. It's be more "fun" to do it the other way like you are Jason, no doubt about it.

I can see it your way also though Chris! Owning a car with history is a cool thing. These cars have priced themselves out of reach unfortunately :(

Love it. I'm going to watch what this one goes for. Curious to see what it would cost to get a clean Catalina like that car
