Well it's getting to be that time again. Football season starts soon and I finally got to go and see it live in GB. Never been there before Saturday night. Even though it was only a pre-season scrimage it was still cool as hell! Can't wait to go back for an actuall game later this year. Thought I'd share some snapshots for anyone who cares :thumbsup

Thanks guys. It really is amazing how much light there is at that place. Makes it easy even with my crummy lenses.

No kidding. Everything was pretty much as though it were a real game. The whole town looked like a world fair, there were no open hotel rooms for like 60miles, and police were absolutely everywhere. If this is what a scrimage looks like I can't even begin to imagine game day or even worse a playoff game!

Heard on the radio beforehand that capacity is ~70,000...they were expecting ~76,000. =0
They get to keep 100% of the profits too because it's just a scrimmage.

:banana :Hump :rockwoot: hehe! Wasgoing to get the Rebel but decided to hold out for the durability and extra features on the 10D. The Rebel can do basically everything the 10D does if you find the third party firmware, but something about "modding" a $600-900 camera made me a little uneasy (plus bye bye warranty :deal ) and the alloy body (composite on Rebel) is way better for a klutz like me :goof Did drop it once from about 6 inches and not even a scratch.

Either way its a great unit. Even thopugh my sh!tty lenses only sport a max of f/3.5 I never once had to go above ISO400 including the fireworks. Everything handheld. Gobs of light up there :shades

I just did my cousin's wedding... I had to use 800 for some of the indoor.

the lense that comes with it I think only goes to f3.5 too.
10D can goto 3200 iso.... rebel only 1600 (which aint bad though)

Yes, but don't use that as your basis for decision. 3200 is so freakin noisy you might as well use a webcam :goof I normally avoid anything over 400 at all cost. 800 is ok if you have noise reduction suites (decent ones) or are willing to spend a lot of time working in PS but otherwise everything I shoot is in 100 or 200. And the lens that comes with the Rebel is a joke. No offense, but they are even worse than the crap EF-II glass they were packaging with the Rebel 2000 and Ti. Well, OK, they're not bad for snapshots but after about 2-3K worth of shots the focus tube will start to fall off. Even a cheapo Sigma or Slightly higher than bottom line Tamron isn't a bad investment.

Unless you can afford those funny looking white lenses with the red stripe on the end of them!

BTW, did you make any prints from the wedding? If so how big? Interpolated? Or PS upsize? RAW or JPEG?

Sorry to bug :goof

hehe, I'm hijacking my own thread! :thumbsup

Ever here of Waynes Drive In? It's at 5corners in Cedarburg. It's about 45min north of WA. We'll hook it up. No worries :thumbsup

Never been there, but I've heard of it. a 45 minute ride might take a couple fill ups. :goof

When is the next show?

Tuesday is 84+, Thursday is older stuff. Don't bother with the tue shows though. It's like the local Mustang/Rice only show. Besides for your white car I would recommend Covered Bridge Park just up the road another 2.5mi when the leaves are turning color :thumbsup

all pics done in large jpg.
a 4X6 is 512 dpi.

I borrow the Rebel from my office land lord. He had a 400mm lense I got to use as well. pretty handy from shooting from the back of the church.

I went to Kinkos and used the Sony print station thinger. bit expensive but I was happy with the end result. I shipped all the prints to my aunt in Indiana so I dont have anything to show ya. I'll upload some of my fav shots.

...stand by.

all untouched. looking at these pics now I can see what you mean the lense doesnt focus for sh!t or is just too soft for my tastes.

Well actually sharpening in PS makes an assload of difference. Either use Filter>Sharpen>Unsharp Mask then season to taste or you can try the PS Plugin that I have from Fred Miranda.com

Really every digital photo needs at least some sharpening unless you are going for that "soft focus" look.

I'll get ya a linky for that Plug-In and some examples later if you want. Nice shots though.
