OK my ignition twisted off in my hand last Friday
when I tried to start the car. Drilled the cylinder
out but think I went to far. Looking at the column
I can tell someone has had it apart before.

I am thinking about installing a push button to start
it. How many Amps does this switch need to be rated
at? Will also be installing switches for Acc power and
the fuel pump.
Thanks for any input,
Mike

if you buy a designated push starter it should be rated correctly but off the top of my head I dont remember. I used a Honda S2000 push starter once and was easy to wire up.

The starter has a solenoid so the actual switch won't need to handle much amperage. I would say around 10 amps. Like yoo said the s2000 is a common push button a lot of people use.

Got to the hardware store and just buy a switch. Drill a hole someplace and wire it up to the starter. I had the same thing happen to me (granted it was in a 92 sundance so it didn't have to look like it belonged) We made it so all you had to do was turn the key to "ON" and push the button.
