My dad has an 85 and has always been talking about getting an intercooler and turbo upgrade. I know little about GNs but want to get him a setup for his birthday.

Is this compatible? If so what would I need to go along with it?

Not compatible. The 84-85 didn't come with an intercooler, the turbo is basically mounted to the intake manifold. To add a front mount, the turbo has to be moved a bit so the hot side can go to the intercooler and the cold side can come back up to the manifold. Doable, but it takes work.

Dr. Buick, what size roughly is the intercooler?
