View Full Version : 102.1 and 102.9...

Is everybody else sick of hearing the same crap on these stations?

102.1 plays new crap that no one really listens to and 102.9 plays the old crap that's been played out for 10+ years.

We need a new radio station that plays decent rock music. We need a WJJO out here.

Milwaukee has the worst radio selection. Every time I take a road trip to another city I'm just amazed at the selection of stations.

yeah...but they're listeners are probably saying "every time I go to (blank) I'm amazed at the selection of...."

As far as radio, I think the grass is always greener on the other side. Milwaukee does have good talk radio though, lol.

Yeah but I'm saying purely the number of stations in other cities. When I went to ft worth there were like 4 stations of every genre of music you could think of.

What I can't stand is Bob and Brian. Why do people like them so much? And them to put their re-runs on at 10pm at night? Lame.

eh I liked JJO when I drove a truck since they played more actual metal than any station in milwaukee does. We even suck for country music.

I happen to get 95.1 on my truck. It is a Rock station that is in Illinois they play a decent mix of both the new and old Rock. But I do agree about 102.1 and 102.9

Red97GTP

Yeah, 95.1 is decent. The only reason I listen to 102.1 is because 102.9 sucks. Then I get pissed off and turn on something else.

I never believed in XM until I lived in Wisconsin.

Yeah I'm seriously considering XM for my next new vehicle purchase... I like 102.1's genre but am sick of hearing the same songs every time I turn it on.

I like Kramp & Adler in the morning. Other then the morning I listen to CD's.

As someone who mostly listens to hip hop music, I will say that I have been to other cities that had some good stations. For instance in Arizona there was a station that played nothing but late 80s and all 90's hoip hop and R&B. That was so awesome. We listened to that station the whole time we were there.

In ATL was a station that played GOOD hip hop music non stop with people that actually cared about hip hop. One night show these dudes sat and talked about the songs after playing a set. I liked that format a lot.

I listen to 102.9 and like Bob and Brian. I have become my Father in law in that I like music from the era I grew up in ( for him its KLH). That's pretty much the only station that plays music from back then. If you want to poke your eyes out try listening to 103.7. I let my daughter control the radio sometimes and I have heard them play the same fricken songs with less than 2 hours in between.

I am tired of hearing the same stuff on 102.1. They have this massive catalog of music yet play the same shit every day. I like 94.1 and 95.1 when I can get them. 88.9 and 91.7 also have some good stuff out of the norm.

Unless they moved they were out of Kenosha

edit: just checked, they are still in Kenosha http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WIIL

I do wish JJO came in better around here

Pandora FTW!

The only problem with Pandora is that it turns off after an hour of no button pressing or 40 hours total run time in a month,

94.1 is faaaar worse than 102.9 trust me. They play the same song multiple times a day over and over.......

They may as well be in IL. I don't give a crap about Chicago traffic or what's going on in IL. I couldn't stand listening to them when I lived/worked in Burlington.

I listen to B&B then I turn on XM until 3:00pm and then stream Belling on my phone until 6:00pm and then it's back to XM. For the record, Live with Eddie Trunk on the Boneyard (XM 53) after 5:00pm on Monday evening kicks ass.

I miss the old alternative 102.1 and Lazer 103. Now....I rely on Sirius....it's relatively cheap and I never have to worry about finding a "good" station when traveling.

My love for radio began with listening to WTOS back in the day. FM was new as far as rock music went and their laid back DJ style intrigued me. When I had the chance to do radio in California, I styled myself after that laid back style. Radio is so commercial these days and heavily formatted. I often used George Carlin's "Wonderful WINO" skit as a good description of radio today.

I just recently discovered Padora radio. Internet radio much like the satellite radio stations but it's free. You choose the music type you want to listen to. I think I'll be using it a lot.

Pandora is what I've been using at work the last 4 years about, I usually don't turn it on until after lunch so it's rare if I hit the 40 hour mark. I remember when I first discovered it, no limit and no ad's at all...not that there are many now.

I will say I do like JJO and 95.1 is decent too, but like many on here they usually don't come in very well if at all when I'm driving around.

One of them screw your lady or punch you? If so then your response is fair. If not, seems a bit harsh when you can just turn the station :goof .
