I was pretty sick today, so I give the paycheck to The Lovely Lori to deposit it and do some quick shopping. As I am sitting there, a cute girl in an older Chrysler Concorde stops and rolls her window down. She says "I know it's cold out but I shouldn't run the car while parked because it's not good for the planet" I says OK, and you keep yours in proper tune cuz that helps too" and I turned off my car. Let me tell you, I usually don't go much for environmental issues outside of the usual stuff, but she was nice about it and she didn't get all self righteous. Her car was clean and not covered with lefty bumper stickers. I will say that for the remainder of the 20 minutes I sat there the car stayed warm, damned thing must have decent insulation.

I would have told her I was sick, and to please not bug me, and then started coughing out the window...but that's just me. You probably did the right thing by not telling her that internal combustion engines only account for 5% of the green house gasses.
