I never figured out the way those addresses worked. In the city here the numbers go up either the farther west you go or North and South of downtown. Theirs might have a pattern, I just don't know it.

I never figured out the way those addresses worked. In the city here the numbers go up either the farther west you go or North and South of downtown. Theirs might have a pattern, I just don't know it.

the pattern is simple. the N# indicates how far north in the city you are. for example, the 4000 block (or would be N40) is Capitol Drive. So if there was an address of N40W12400 it would be Capitol Dr. and 124th St. N91W7053 is in the north 9100 block (not sure what major road that is, I don't frequently go that far north to know major road names) and would be the equivelant east-west orientation of inbetween 70th and 71st street.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think the north/south dividing line is Bluemound Rd or Wisconsin St. Numbers get higher the farther north or south of that line.
In the Brookfield area, major roads would be:
North Ave: 2300 block (N23)
Burleigh: 3100 (N31)
Capitol: 4000 (N40)
Hampton: 4800 (N48)
Silverspring: 5400 or 5500 depending on where you are (N54/N55)

Roads that run north-south:
Lily Rd (140th or 14000)
Pilgrim (156th or 157th 15600 or 15700)

Once you understand the concept, its very easy to figure out

I figured there was some reasoning behind it, I just didn't know what.

Thanks for the info, I should remember that now, since its a pretty simple concept

Navigation (and onstar) don't like addresses like that. I got onstar and when I tried to use it to get to a friends house once, the lady kept telling me it wouldn't work. All they could do is get me to the street and I had to find the house myself.

With Onstar just say it like a normal address. N40W12400 Capitol would be said as 12400 W. Capitol. Also works for most map webbies
