My car has a basic 357w with a RPM Air Gap, 650 Holley, Comp 280h
Magnum cam, Factory 351w heads with port work done. Not sure how extensive the porting is. Has Headman shorty headers, 2 1/2"
Exhaust.

Right now it has a Holley blue the the P.O. installed. It is down on the frame rail in the engine bay. It works fine, I did rewire it because
the way the guy did it he used one of those crimp connecters to
splice into a wire. The connection wasn't very good (go figure)
So when it was wet or damp out the pump would quit once in awhile.

I know that it should be back by the tank and that is where it was
going to be relocated to.

Now the ?'s
Did the 85' GT come with a intank pump? I see wiring back there.
Do I need a electric pump? The car makes around 300whp.
It would be a heck of alot easier to just put a mechanical in.

The only thing I know that would keep me from being able to do it
is the cam not having the eccentric lobe.

Thanks, Mike

The 85 gt 5spd I had was a mechanical pump the auto cars had a throttle body on them not sure what pump they had

your timming chain cover may or may not have the provision for a mechanical pump if not then a electric pump would be easier install

Oh I see. I was thinking it would be like an old Chevy 350 and have the lobe built into the cam??

Thanks, But if I have to take off the Timing cover
to do the swap it isn't happening. Way easier to
move the one that is in there now.
