Looks like today I'm buying my old Thunderbird back. I talked with the owner yesterday and we have made arrangements for a purchase and pick up this morning. I sold it a year and a half ago to a local for $4000 who...kind of drove reckless and hit a couple things. I guess he hit a deer and ran over some curbs? The good news is it's coming home for a low $1000. Kind of scared but at the same time I know I can fix her up good as new.

I'll post pictures of the carnage when I pick her up.

Thanks!

When I owned it...

I'm a Thunderbird owner once again! The engine and transmission are sound, I forgot how fun a shift kit is on an auto transmission. Brakes are good. There is a noticeable shimmy in the suspension at higher speeds, but I'm sure that because of the bald tires and uneven wear on the tires. Could use an alignment too. As for the cosmetic damage, the front passenger headlight and fender need to be replaced. Other than that a couple new scratches here and there. Not bad for only a grand and 97K miles! Can’t wait to make her good as new again!

glad you got it back but cant say I am surprised. had a feeling after you last posted about it, when the owner did some damage, that you would end up trying to get it back. congrats, sweet car! are you going to RE-mod it now too? lol

Tail pipes that extend past the bumper make baby jesus cry.

Also what about fixing it up and selling it again? :D

Or it could be that snow unevenly distributed and throwing off the balance of your wheels and tires :goof

I'd like to keep it and fix the damage that was done. Maybe throw in a PI explorer motor with a terminator kit.

No that is actually from a 1994 Cougar, I swapped the seats in. The 89-97 Thunderbird / Cougar are the same car, interchangeable parts.

Yea I agree the pipes are not my style, but I was a younger kid at the time. Anything looked good with pipes! Lol I would like to cut into the bumper and tuck them under. I'd like to keep it, but the wife is not liking the idea. Up in the air right now.

Yea I forgot about that! :durr

The funny thing is. He got a est of $1500 to fix the damage by the deer. I can pull parts at the bone yard for less then $200 max to replace the fender, header panel and a corner light if not new parts for a little more. I love stupid people...
