K guys I ran into a issue with my 96 Legacy 2.2. It will misfire about once every week and throw a PO301. After a 2-4 min of cylinder one misfiring it clears up. Car has newer plugs and wires. I had a good extra coil pack and I also swapped #1&3 injectors. Same result. So I have read that on the 95-96 2.2 engines that the exhaust valve guides can drop down causing the valve not to close. So I dropped the y-pipe and sure shit one of the guides for the number one cylinder is about a 1/8 further down than all of the others. So I think I know what the next step is. What I don't get is the valve stem doesn't look like the guide has been dropping down. Has any of you guys seen or heard about this problem? Also does anyone know what style of head gaskets this year of the 2.2 engine use? Like MLS or composite. Thx guys
