On my way in to work, I saw a bunch of squad cars and suburbans on the freeway escorting a long black Hummer limo....followed by another bunch of squad cars/suburbans.

The president has a bigger motorcade, multiple limos, and has more of the freeway shut down before and after....along with helicopters and armed monkeys and whatnot. Is it the same for the VP?
I doubt the governor has that sort of security....

Any ideas?

Probably some celebrity from a 1970's sitcom we're dedicating the city to in hopes of bringing 6 vistors to Milwaukee this year.

All I could find was the Bucks Vs. Golden State Warriors.. but no one on either team is worth a motorcade, hahaha. Now I'm curious as to who the hell it was, it seems to be flying below the radar.. hmmm....

I doubt its government. Hummer limo says self-important rock star, actor, or possibly high profile businessman.

Yes it was!! Its definitely on my all-time favorite 'bank robbing movies' list :thumbsup

Good point! Maybe it was Oprah, or like, Bill Gates or something. Or a local celeb.... like, Dustin Diamond! :durr

If it was Dustin Diamond, the motorcade would consist of a 83 Dodge St Regis pulling a small U-Haul with a bar bouncer as security.

Ha! And instead of squad cars, it'd be repo men!

I was leaving Madison around 10:00am this morning (on my way to Milwaukee) and saw this coming the opposite way from Milwaukee arriving in Madison. Lots of squad cars just hanging out on the beltline and interstate waiting for it to come by, although they didn't seem to be blocking traffic completely anywhere.

The fact they are playing in California might rule this idea out...

Wasn't Walker supposed to be doing a tour of the State?

Fiscal responsibility is a hard sell when your rolling in a Hummer limo, doubt it.

Sent a quick email over to a news station in Madison.

Could this be related?

Was there a hearse in the motorcade?

Maybe the guy was cremated and family was riding in the limo?

There were definitely tons of officers from multiple jurisdictions all over the highway in Madison.

My first impression was a funeral, due to all the different county sheriff cars in the motorcade... but I didnt see a hearse. There were tahoes/suburbans though, and I suppose one of those could be carrying the casket or whatever. But I didnt see a hearse at all.
I'd say this is what it was though.... Good job!! :thumbsup

Actually, good job to Chris Gegg

I was ready to complain about the total waste of resources that go into police escort motorcades.

I'm now only slightly annoyed and a bit more understanding. Happy it wasn't for some worthless politician or dignitary.
