Since gas prices are on the rise, im thinking about picking up a project sportbike to tinker with.Is there any local places or websites that cater to people looking for rebuilder bikes?

There is crashedtoys.com but there used to be another one that was more local stuff. Can't remember it at all. Still better off with Craigslist. Although Wisconsin Cycle Salvage has a few good bikes for sale on their website right now!

Thanks for the link, but it looks just like all the rest of the online salvage auctions and there are only a had full of states you can buy from unless your a dealer.

I picked up my project, a 1990 Ninja from this place in chicago:
http://www.toolstorechicago.com/current/cycles.htm
got a running rideable bike for $500. they even still have the pic on their site. They have more than what they show.

Sometimes yes sometimes no. I got my GS700ES for $600 on CL, but other people think their beater old late 70's-early 80's japanese bike that is rusty and hasn't run since mullets were in style are worth $2k:rolf
