From experience, Mt's are rather grippy tires, however dont do well if you get stuck in the rain. Nittos did well in the rain for me, and seem to last longer than other DRs

I've had a set of the Nittos (555r) and liked them, did OK in the rain. This was on a fwd car though, and I don't feel they were really "sticky"..
edit; 555r were a more street friendly radial, probably don't fully compare

If I didn't get the deal on the tires that I did - I would have bought NT05s again, or the NT05R.

My opinion is of little significance given that I have not tried MT Street Radials.

from everything i've seen the M/T wear really fast...

i've been happy with the BFG G-force T/a Drag Radials....but not everyone seems to like them.

MT's are going to offer the most grip, and wear the fastest. I had 555R's in the past, not nearly as grippy, but lasted longer. I wouldn't drive any of them in the rain. Or my car for that matter:rolf

Depends what you want. My M/Ts stick like glue but wear fairly quickly on the street and are useless wet. I had Nitto DRs that wore better, handled wet better but traction was sacrificed. My BFGs seemed to be the happy medium, still not much fun in the rain, they hooked ok and wore ok. After owning all 3 I now keep M/Ts on the car and I just expect to buy a set every other year, however I don't see much track time anymore. Burnouts will drastically reduce the life, obviously.

What do you suggest that I change?

It was just a joke from another thread, lol. I would hit up the MTs, they are going to be your best bet for street traction. BUT, I would be surprised if you get more than two seasons out of them. Probably more like one "spirited" year...

Shoot, I dont even know who has my MT's anymore....I only used them on the track, never on the street, but I know others who did....I think durty Kurty has them now....ask him how they are wearing.

i was actually suprised how well the BFG's worked in the rain. 2 trips to chicago in the rain and down to Clocks off in the rain and the car seemed to track just fine.

but yeah, a season, season and a half is all they will last.

They lasted 500 miles on my turbo camaro, they got ate up during the 15 psi tuning process. great tire, gripped awesome. But if you want life out ofa sticky tire, your gonna have to look at Nitto 555R's or NT01's.

I never understood why people think that a super soft/competition tire is suppose to last on the street. Its a trade off traction on dry at the expense of wear. Now I bought a set on MT for my Mustang, and when I bought them The salesman, John at Fast Times informed me that depending on Burnouts, and daily driving to only expect about 3000 miles if I was lucky. Most guys get a summer out of them. And then they are gone.

I bought them anyways, knowing that if I was lucky I might get a summer out of them. How many guys do you see at the track with BFG's or Nitto's not many I am betting.

And have to agree with Dr.Buick on this one. That is a more than fair price for that level of performance out of a tire for a season.
