my father lives not too far from raleigh, NC and sent me a pic of 6" of snow on his deck 3 weeks ago!

I live here in NC, and its snowing pretty good. Everything is closed. But we got records last year, and I unfortunately got stuck in it on a road trip in a bmw back to WI. We were literally following the convoy behind the one plow/salt truck in one county. But sums up what snow equals here in NC, panic and unpreparedness.

We used to get snow every 10 years where I lived in Florida (Jacksonville, the far northeast corner).

My parents still have a timeshare condo in NC; they got it because that was where we could go a couple times a winter to see snow and ski while we lived in FL. Their place in NC is not too far from Asheville NC in the smoky mountains.
