Those 1ZZFE engines had problems with rings so make sure you find a engine without smoking issues. I dont remember what year that issue went to. Cooper would know this answer best.

the car I have has bearings washed out of it so even a little smoke would be an improvement if its cheap

Is this a car your gonna keep? If I were you just rebuild the block. It's super easy due to the way Toyota builds their engines. There are numbers on the block and crank and crank and rods. Just match and add the numbers and your set. If you want I can rebuild the engine for ya. I've done a few of these in the past. BTW Toyota also has over sized bearings for the crank if it has to be cut.

Ya, its my brothers car. Just trying to do the quickest most economical way to get it back on the road. Time is as much my issue as the actual engine.

I understand. I'll make a couple of calls tomorrow to my sources. They most of the time can find me engines and trannys at a good cost and with lower miles. I'll get back to you as soon as I get more info.

Not a problem. Also if he decides to sell it as is. Lmk cuz I might be interested in buying it. But first I'll try to find you a good engine.

They cant afford to replace it so its either find him a motor or go through this one....

One of my connections had no engine. The other called me back and said they found one in IL and are gonna call me back Monday with a price and check the miles. So I'll PM you when they call me.
