I would never buy a tv from menards no matter how good of a deal it seems. Probably a version made just for them, a cheaper version of what youd see at an electronics store. And what do you do a year from now when you need warranty work? Menards gonna tell you to suck it.

Its the exact same model number as sold EVERYWHERE else, and if you purchase with a Visa credit card its a 2 year warranty from Visa. Thanks for your input on the matter anyhow :thumbsup

really? Your post is chalked full of fail.

As apposed to buying a tv from any other store?

You honestly think that menards is going to stand behind a tv that they sold you? They are a building materials and home improvement store, they don't specialize in electronics. And companies definetly make different versions of their products for different stores. So how is it full of fail?

I think he means that if you buy it from say best buy, you can also purchase a 4 yr warranty and not have to hassle with the manufacturer warranty. Iirc, menards doesnt offer extended warranties for electronics that they sometimes carry.

What Visa card to you use? In order for the manufacturers warranty to be extended by most Visa cards you need to send your card company an original receipt within a certain period of time after the purchase date. Also, like I said, good luck with Menards getting you service on a tv, they don't specialize in electronics. I would rather spend the extra 200 and get it from a store I know will take care of me. Also for that extra 200 most stores like best buy will bring the tv to your house, hook it up for you, and calibrate it. But again im full of fail so yeah.

And one last crappy thing about menards rebates. They come to you as a check that can only use at menards. For someone like you its fine, because you spend a lot of money there, but for lots of other people it would be useless. So the tv they have on sale for $999 is the one that Best Buy sells for $1999? If so I'd go to Best Buy or American and get them to match that price for you. American has a price match guarantee, not sure about Best Buy's matching policy.

actually just called them and they do offer warranties with in home service and an additional 11% rebate this week. so that is a good deal and this location said they are going to start carrying them again full time! although the rebates are all in merchandise credit.

so they are offering the $200 rebate and an additional 11% on top of that yet?

Just found this out it looks to be correct. Menards also has an additional 11% Rebate for anything purchased between Jan 1 - 8th, and that is on top of the $200 rebate on the TV. That bumps the price down to $867.11

Yep , I was just there a couple hours ago and the 11 percent deal is pretty damn cool !

I found a Mr. Heater I was wanting at the regular price for WAY less than anywhere else and now with the 11 percent off it the deal is totally awesome !

This!!!

I hate Menards for simply this reason, I admit its a great price, but if you don't need 200 bucks worth of other stuff from menards it is a total joke.

I own a house, I will need much more then 200 worth of stuff from menards in the long run. And with this additional 11%, I'll be getting 330 bucks in menards bucks back :thumbsup I'll use that for a new front door, or lumber, or roofing materials, or deck materials, or lawn care tools, etc etc etc :thumbsup

If it is a LED than that is a great deal for sure.

I believe he said it's LED. Buying and LCD would be dumb since the technology is going towards LED. Plus the energy savings.

I totally hear you, I know you will use that money to your advantage. I just don't own a home at this point so to me it seems like a shady trick to force you to spend the rebate money with them anyway. Although I guess its not much different than Colders dollar matching games with spend this much on a mattress and get double to buy more gimmick.

Seem to stop at Menards every week, so I don't mind the "merchandise credit".

Um yes you can. Call any menards in the area. You can order them. They have over 40 left in their regional warehouse. The manona store guy was able to check if they had any, checked all other stores in the state, and said his distribution center showed over 40 left, all in real time. So if you want one, order it, if the store doesn't offer the option, speak to the manager.

according to the guy on the phone, it wouldn't qualify for the 11% because he said it was something they normally carried, but were out of, so the 11% doesn't qualify. Its in the fine print on the ad.

Menards also had a 22" LED TV on their black Friday sale for $99. With a $100 rebate but in store rebate. My friend bought two of them and they are a off brand but the picture is really good. Can't beat $100 for a LED tv. I don't see a problem buying electronics from Menards even if the rebate is in store. If you own a home you will eventually need something from a home improvement store. I bought my tool box from them and it's kick ass.

Lol that makes a lot of sense, not. That's what warrantys are for, that and toshiba is not exactly a throw away brand. My projector is toshiba, almost 6 years old and works perfect
