Good movie! The acting was very well done, the storyline was very good, they did a great job of re-creating the wild west feel IMO. My girlfriend didn't like the movie, but all the guys that I talked to liked it also.

I'd say it's worth seeing in the theater. My uncle also said he liked it better than the John Wayne original (which I have not seen).

I took my wife to see it...she has never been a fan of western's (even tombstone!), but she absolutely adored True Grit. Lots of laughter in the movie without being a comedy...

Bridges was absolutely great...my favorite performance of his, even better than "the dude" in the big lebowski. Matt Damon was also damn funny too....
