Did you get anything? At my current job I got a $50 sams club/walmart gift card and a ham. :alcoholic

At my previous job I got $150 cash and the owner of the company bought various gifts from $30-$50 and we did the white elephant / dirty santa thing. I always got extremely useless gifts tho. Such as: a fancy vase, home energy savings kit (a brush to clean the coils of your fridge, outlet insolator things, misc junk) and a fancy soup kit thing one year.

What did you get, if anything?

We get, nor would I expect anything. The group of doctors I used to work for would always give pretty generously, a true bonus.

One company I used to work for would time our yearly profit-sharing around christmas so as to feel like a bonus, even though it was simply money earned.

First we have a company dinner. This year it was at sabor. Then for a bonus I got a little over 17% of my yearly gross.

Only had the option of a ham or turkey, but I consider getting this new job a bonus on it's own so I'm not complaining.

At the last place I worked we didn't get an xmas bonus but we did get a bonus in jan/feb, which was usually about 25% of my gross wage that year.

I changed jobs last xmas and no bonuses at the new place, but at least I get paid for OT now.:goof

I got the best Christmas bonus ever....

A full time permanent position as a Install Tech. This includes a new 2011 F-250 with the 6.7 turbo diesel. So now I am no longer a intern of sorts. And no more broken down work trucks.

Almost 10 years at my place of employment and we didn't even get so much as a card. Kinda disturbing, I think.

We always got atleast a card.

Yep, same here for my current job :rolf ;) .

Where I used to work I received a $100 bill with a Christmas card at our party or luncheon. Small business with maybe 20 employees. Nothing huge but it was nice for sure.

10% gross realy? If I got 10% of my gross labor Im afraid I would take a year off work...or two unpaid! Hell I would snipe anybody you would like for 10% of my yearly gross overall pay :)

They give $50 to every employee nomatter if they just started (my son) or a janitor who is on his second week of employ. Not much much considering they dont need to a nice gesture.

I was a plant manager of a processing plant in the 90's....the word "bonus" made me stain my pants back then.

We got 25 dollar gift cards for walmart, not bad considering our company isn't doing the best profit wise. I think we have almost 700 employees, so thats a big chuck of change...

Years ago when I first started I got $25. Now, we get nothing except maybe a bit of food after work ended at noon. It was broasted chicken this year. Last year we made the boss grill outside in the cold. Burgers, brats and it was good. The used to put out the alcohol, but the owner got worried a few years back when another company got sued for letting their employee get hammered so bad he crashed his car going home...so no more booze.

Never got a "Christmas bonus" or a "profit-sharing bonus". Just a "performance bonus". I'd rather have the dollars in my salary than a taxed-to-hell bonus.

One year I did get a $1500 gift card as a "thank you". Worked out to about $2/hr and it saved the company about a quarter million in contractor work but it was fun. I was surprised to receive it. I think instead of people being rewarded for nothing it's better to reward them for good work. Too much entitlement in this world.

I just got called into work this morning at 6:30. Considering I will be getting paid double time, that's the bonus I get. Oh well, I guess people would like to have power and heat for Christmas Eve. Get to miss my christmas eve to make other people happy.

A bonus is just that a bonus. I don't expect one. We are a small shop and the owner does so much threw out the year. He BBQ's lunch, his wife makes cookies. Time off when ever you need it. Keys to shop to use as you wish (even for side work). the list can go on
On a side note I did get a gift to any tool dealer of my choice..

Wow, suprised to see so many people bitching about not getting christmas bonuses...

We got $50 gas cards and had a little get together, that and a good work forecast for the next few months (usually our slow time) is more than enough of a bonus.

Funny and sad at the same time. Got $200 cash bonus which was cool but when I went to cash my paycheck it didn't clear! What a joke! I even got my boss a Gift Card for Brewskis Steak house. Hope he feels real bad.

Same here! I was laid off at the end of November and got a job offer within three weeks. That made for a great Christmas bonus!

This year my plant made over $20 million profit for just my plant and we got a shitty turkey for thanksgiving and a pocket calendar for Xmas. I got bitched at for having a poor attitude when my supervisor handed me the calendar and I threw it in the garbage next to me. Fuck that place.

No bonus here, either. Given the overall health of the banking industry and surviving out a 10% workforce cut this year, not to mention a branch closing, I feel fortunate to be employed. I feel for co-workers and friends who haven't been as fortunate.

Merry Xmas y'all

Wait until you're eligible for the profit and gainsharing, then come back and tell people about the bonus's we get through the year. Moels works at Steel, his gainsharing is always better than ours, but all Charter shares the same profit sharing at the end of the year:shades

at my last job, the owners would take the ENTIRE company including family/2 friends(several hundred people) out to Great America for a day and would take care of parking, food and trip expenses then management would get % bonuses PLUS whatever extra (1 year, it was over $10k)they wanted to give out to the GMs.

Where I work, they don't call it a Christmas bonus, they call it the "Year End" Bonus. Depending on how the company did meeting its objectives determines our bonuses.

Last year there was no bonus. This year there was. Mine worked out to be 2.38% of my salary. It's a nice little kick at the end of the year. 44% of the check I didn't see due to taxes and other deductions.

The way some have mentioned getting nothing except for some trinket or turkey when the company did well has got me thinking. Does anyone think that when a company has bad times and has given little or no perks at year end, and then when conditions improve and make great profit and do not pass it on to the workers, that some places are just taking advantage just because the "drones" can be replaced in this economy if their attitude sucks?

We do 3 parties; 1 for office only, one for field and office, and one for everyone and wives/spouse etc. Bonus was ~8% of salary, plus $250 check and $20 for a turkey.

Absolutely. In these times, when everyone feels lucky to just have a job, companies hang that over their employees' heads. Where I work, the company makes more money than I can even express, they are constantly building posh new offices for their white-collars, flashy signs, cabinets, etc......and yet, we see nothing. We are treated like shit, paid very poorly, and subjected to some pretty dangerous conditions, and they know we won't utter a single peep, as we are all in fear of being unemployed. I think many companies are doing this. Considering the job market, there's nothing that can be done about it, really.
