All three complained that the system the Macon-Bibb County Economic Opportunity Council uses to give out the assistance needs improving.
Yeah, it needs to be improved....Why the hell should someone who has that kind of a tv get any assistance? WTF I dont have a tv that big and I pay all of my bills with no assistance.....I think I am going to have to glom off the state for a while to have nice things
Maybe she won it at a raffle of sorts? Or it was a gift?
I do see the irony, I'm just pointing out that perhaps she didn't buy it. :thumbsup

Just cause you won it doesn't mean you can't sell it to pay for some heat :/

Yeah that is BS, my brother bought his big flat-panel TV from there (he had no credit history) and was paying $28/WEEK. So if she can afford $28 per week for a TV, she can afford $28 per week for heat.

Very true.

I think there should be a special law enforcement group that makes visits to homes where people receive assistance of any type and if they see fancy electronics that aren't necessary such as the tv's and gaming systems, or if they have car payments for high end cars then all assistance is revoked. If they can afford this crap they don't need assistance for basic necessities....

Yea, and raise taxes to pay for the staffing that would be required for that? Give me a break.
Assistance should ONLY be granted to those that put into the system, people who who work and get laid off and get down on their luck. Most of these grubs that abuse the system haven't worked a day in their lives, and that is sickening.

You guys would be amazed the shit I see going into a lot of people's homes who are on assistance. 80 degree apartments, bigger tvs, stereos, Escalades, all this shit happens with more than half of the people on some type of assistance.
