When I start up my PC, I get that dreaded thunk noise and a little window pops up that says PLNRnote. Then in the box itself it says...Encountered an improper argument. WTH is that. The only thing that I did before hand was load a Hallmark 2011 Card making disc. I can click off the box and have no more issues with the PC or that box. Not a big problem, but annoying. Suggestions? I have an upgraded Compaq Presario (more RAM) and it has Vista Home Premium as the OS.

Download HiJack This (http://dw.com.com/redir?edId=3&siteId=4&oId=3000-8022_4-10227353&ontId=8022_4&spi=d75de776511212592c21104eae878516&lop=link&tag=tdw_dltext&ltype=dl_dlnow&pid=11642007&mfgId=6283336&merId=6283336&pguid=X0TSdgoOYIwAACr5G2kAAACp&destUrl=http%3A%2F%2Fdownload.cnet.com%2F3001-8022_4-10227353.html%3Fspi%3Dd75de776511212592c21104eae87 8516) and run it. Save a log file and post it here.

What will, that do? Another scan? I did two scans with what Yoo recommended and with my AVG. Other than that I don't know how to remove the problem.

It shows what processes are being loaded and a bunch of other browser and service related items, it then gives you the option to remove them from being auto-started. You can screw things up if you remove the wrong things which is why you should post what it finds here first and I will tell you what to remove.

You should download Microsoft Security Essentials, Spybot Search & Destroy and Ad-Aware. It is quite common for multiple programs tofind things that the others did not.

For added assurance, after you uninstall, rename the program folder from the c:\program files\ folder. You can find out what folder the program is installed in by clicking on the shortcut and selecting properties. Just rename the folder to something else, like c:\program files\Hallmark-backup, in case for some odd reason there might be something important in that folder. There should be no risk in just deleting it as only the files to run the program should be in that folder, but not knowing that specific program, I can't be for sure.

Finally got around to dealing with this problem. It was the Hallmark program. I think it had something to do with importing addresses from the 2009 version I had before. So, I manually wrote down all my addresses (yeah I know, not the geek way to do it). I then uninstalled the program, reinstalled the disc in the drive and re did the procedures and now......it works correctly.
