My brother and I are bringing my mother and step-father in to the 21st century with a gas grill for the holidays. I want a grill they can use for years without issue and Weber seems the only brand to fit that requirement. Most times this grill will see food for 4-6 people with a party of 12-15 people maybe once a year if that often.....

My main hang-up is whether to go with the 2 (E-210) or 3 (E-310) burner Spirit series. Any thoughts or feedback are much appreciated....

I personally love our weber grill that we have hooked up to run natural gas. Might be worth doing for older people so they don't have to keep replacing tanks.

I thought of this but portability is a must not to mention the price jumps with natural gas versions......

I saw some VERY nice grills at Sears Southridge in their harware dept. They had the Webers as well as some others that looked comparable, quality wise, but were quite a bit less.

Does your grill have 2 or 3 burners...???

3 Burner.

Personally I LOVE... My 4 Burner Kenmore. I "inherited" it from my dad when he bought a 6 Burner (maybe 7) Weber this past summer... This Kenmore has stood the test of time... It's 13 years old and has NEVER ONCE seen a cover... Luckily it's stainless on the outside :rolf

All I'm going to say is that you get what you pay for, so Weber is a good brand to go with. My last one was a UniFlame, and it was more like UniFail.

Get the 3 burner. If they are just cooking for themselves leave one burner off..

I can get you a smoking deal on a Weber grill right now. I am the manager at Ace Hardware in Fort Atkinson. Give me a call today, Ill be there until 3:30pm. 920-563-6677. We carry Weber exclusively, and have 2 discontinued brand new Genesis EP-310's and an EP-320 (side burner) on clearance. The EP models, which are exclusive to hardware store chains has 3 stainless burners, stainless flavorizer bars, and stainless grates. I can guarantee you won't find a better deal that I have on these grills right now, call me for a quote. I also have a Stainless Spirit 3 burner grill also. I have 1 left, also a discontinued model. Has stainless burners, flavorizer bars, and grates also. Example of how good my prices are...

Home Depot price on the stainless spirit, $570. Theirs has the porcelain grates (garbage. will need to be replaced. also has porcelain flavorizer bars, will rust for sure in time).

My price - $549. Assembled. No big box has these grills.

Give me a call today, ill be glad to help you out, guarantee you won't find the same grill for cheaper. Name is Justin.

Get a MHP, much better quality than the weber, just harder to find.

I bought a Weber Genesis EP310 from Ace Hardware this summer and it is so awesome that words can't describe it. It has 3 burners and you can just use 2 if you don't have a lot to cook.

Seriously, it is expensive but it is worth it.

I've had a 3 burner Genesis for over ten year now. The burners did rust out last year, but I got a new set for it and it's good for another ten!

I know gas is convenient, but I just can't bring myself to do it.

ps, yes I made that as a joke just for this thread.

I had a weber genisis 3 burner propane, and I really liked it. I got a deal on a Broil King natural gas and sold the weber. I still miss the weber. With three burners you can control how much you brown the food. You use the front and back burners for indirect heat, and the center one to brown. There is also much less flareups with indirect heat.
I also do not like the natural gas because it burns cooler than propane. I drilled out the orifices and the burner holes for some improvement. Weber Genesis 3 burner gets my vote.

I would buy the Genesis right now, simply because they are such a great deal. Weber has MAPP pricing (minimum advertised pricing) so unless something is discontinued, everyone has to sell them for the same price. Since the Genesis EP-310's are disco, they are a great deal, at least at my store. We sold over 40 of them this year. I got one for my dad last year, he grills about 3x a week at least, loves it. I checked out those MHP grills, id put a Weber against them anyday. If you want something very cool, go with a Weber Summit. Now thats a badass grill.

GTO Jeff, how much did you pay if I may ask? And what store did you buy it from? Did they offer free assembly and delivery locally?

The poorness of the quick shop makes it even funnier :rolf.
I gotta say I hate waiting for charcoal, don't want to start a war but the speed factor is enough to overpower and flavor advantage.
+1 for the Weber though, the one at my parents house has been in use for probably 10-15 years, still works great.

You mean that doesn't look like an unreleased 2-Pac Album cover? :rolf Little known fact, 2 Pac only had 3 fingers on his right hand. jk

But yeah, I can't argue the convenience. I had 4 grills at one point and now down to 2. Weber is awesome.

I have one of these and this is what I do all my serious BBQin in.

GTO Jeff, how much did you pay if I may ask? And what store did you buy it from? Did they offer free assembly and delivery locally?

I bought mine from the Mequon Ace Hardware store. It was $599 assembled (they would not sell me one un-assembled) and I hauled it home in my pickup truck because I wanted it for dinner that night. A few days later I got a $15 Ace gift card in the mail, that paid for the first LP refill and was a nice surprise.

We grilled out 3 or 4 times/week all summer long and will still use it sometimes over the winter.
