He should take this down so as not to flood his inbox anymore. I dropped my truck off by him tonight.

Tip of the Day:
borrow vs. lend

Usage Tip

Use 'borrow' when taking money from someone, use 'lend' when giving money to someone.

Example Sentences

She borrowed $4000 from her parents.
The bank lent me $2000 to cover the costs.

I lent a car to some one who was in a bind, once. Far from a stranger, but in no way a close friend. People need help sometimes. No one here has ever had to ask for help?

I'm sure everybody has asked for help at least once in their lives myself included. However, many reasons exist why a sensible person would be VERY hesitant to lend out a vehicle to a complete stranger......

I lent my old Escort to my girlfriend's mom for a couple weeks, this was on the first day I met her (her mom). She needed a car and I actually needed a place to park it (I was driving the RX7 daily at the time) so it worked out perfectly.

I lent a car to a friend when I lived in Cali. Actually, he let me use his Suzuki 425 motorcycle while he was gone on the trip to LA. When he came back a week later, the car had a new paint job on it. Seems he helped out a relative who was starting a body shop and they painted my car. Did a great job on it. It really needed it and they even fixed the rust (Wisconsin car) on it. Sometimes these things work out well.

If I let someone borrow my car, it's to a good friend only and if they're in a real bind. No way in hell would I ever let some stranger borrow my car.
