How did everyone do this year?

Opening weekend was super-slow for us. We saw very little movement compared to previous years until the middle of the week. We had acorns like crazy this year which may have played a role since the deer didn't have to leave the woods much for food. I had a button buck meander around my stand for at least 20 minutes as he ate a path of acorns across the woods. At one point he was 10 feet from my stand. Good thing for him he did that opening day and not mid week or I might not have been able to control my trigger finger :)

Got my first mount-worthy buck this year. I shot him Wednesday night with a 30-06 at ~50 yards. Initial measurements are 177 gross and 164 net. He's a 9 pointer with a 20 inch inside spread. He was taken on my father-in-law's property in Buffalo County. Needless to say I am super stoked and can't wait to get him back from the taxidermist.

This the 10 pointer my nephew shot. This is his second year hunting in the mentor program. Not too many 11 year olds can say they bagged a buck like this. He got him Saturday morning with his 25-06.

Nice bucks!! You guys did better than our camp. Our biggest was an 8 with 15" inside spread but he looked wider.

My brothers friend shot his first buck this year. He doesnt go every year, and had to be talked into going this year by my brother, but holy fvck..... He's glad he ended up going!
Here's the 12 pointer he shot somewhere near the Dells....
Another friend "scored" it as a 183.

17 years of hunting and I still haven't had a chance at a buck like that. Congrats! That's an awesome spread.

Same here! Not even a chance at one!
I'd be ecstatic to have the one your kid shot!

The deer posted by xxsnoblindxx and brian98gtp are once in a lifetime.

I posted a picture of mine already in the Outdoor section, but ill post again.

The guy mounting it is going to green score it, and if it comes close to the limit to get into Boone and Crocket we will have it officially scored.

Yup.... I'd quit hunting after bagging one of those. Holy fvck. You'll never top it! Kind of like bowling a 300, or getting a hole in one.
Nice kill!!!

Damn that's a wide spread, looks like close to 24 inches. Most die-hard hunters don't even get to see a deer like that let alone bag one.

Judging by the spread, tine length and mass I don't think there's any way that won't be a booner.

Nice kill!!!

This season my brother in law saw one that was at least 160 class and another that had booner potential. My father in law saw the same 160 class my brother in law saw plus he saw another 160 class with symmetrical G2 drop tines. That's three on the property that have potential to be Boone & Crocket in the next year or two. Honestly, I should have let mine go for next year. We have him on a trail camera from earlier in the year only a few hundred yards from where I shot him.

Some nice bucks here damn! Our camp had one medium doe and decent 8 ptr with one broken tine so technically a 7 ptr. Better than last year though. Got skunked.
