Just Met Mike Portnoy

so im deployed right now, Avenged Sevenfold just played a show out here, i didn't know that their new drummer was Mike Portnoy. The show was amazing, this was my first time seeing them. after the show they said that they were going to stick around to sign autographs so i went and got one of my cymbals from my drum set out here and got him to sign it.. its pretty awesome to have played on a stage that any rock band played on, my band played a show on the same stage 2 years ago when we were out here last... pretty sweet... too bad Rush wont come out here......first pic is my bands show 2 years ago, second is tonight Avenged Sevenfold show, same stage...

Very cool, I have liked Portnoy for many years. He is just filling in for the tour, he's said a few times that he is not the new Avenged drummer. He was asked to play their tour after the Rev killed himself, since Portnoy was his biggest influence Mike considered it an honor to play his spot for this tour.

It's too bad he left Dream Theater but something tells me he will be back with them in a couple years...
