Looking at getting a complete setup for some moderate sandblasting (powdercoating side-business) and found this Husky compressor at Home Depot for what seems to be a good price with good reviews. I would be running the sandblasters below along with common garage air tools, would this compressor do the job without too many headaches? One concern I have is the sandblaster says it requires 6cfm@125psi but the compressor doesnt list a spec for 125, it says 10.2cfm@90psi. Is it gonna be enough?

Anything with sandblasting/ Powdercoating it is 10+ more than it is worth. I have the shit to do it all but no one wants to pay anything, and I have a oven that can cure a rearend in......so pretty big!! but nobody takes everything you need to do to make a nice product in to account. So a lot of work for little reward.... Maybe I'm doing it wrong......

I'm not really planning on quitting my job over it but to the best of my knowledge there is nobody in town doing small powdercoating stuff so I'm thinking for some extra cash. I would grab an old oven and maybe build a bigger one if the demand would be there.

That comp will not keep up with either of those. My old 60 was 13.4 cfm @ 90psi and that same pressure blaster would pull it down to a constant running 80psi in a hurry and 80psi wasn't enough to remove shit.

Your also going to want a good oil/water separator or your pot will get moist and clump up

I'm confused, if the blast cabinet requires 9.5cfm @ 90psi and the compressor puts out 10.2cfm @ 90psi, why wont the compressor keep up?

Get an IR. TSC has one on sale for $700 once in a while that will keep up with a media blaster.

Because they lie. This is the first customer review for the blast cabinet

"40 Lb. Capacity Floor Blast Cabinet GREAT Buy !!!! Review by MARK RAMIREZ

Had this together in no time and even added silicone in a few places, Installed a water filter and a water trap pipe in line with blow downs on both... No water problems at all.
Have a larger 80 Gallon.compressor rated at 18 CFM @ 100PSI and this cabinet runs it in circles while sand blasting constant. Stop every 15min. or so to let it catch up and cool down. Have the largest nozzle installed in the gun that came with the unit.
I think it came with 4 sizes? would have to check for sure. 14 gallon shop vacuum working fine on this unit.
Ordered 4 extra tip sets right from customer service very cheap.
Looks and works very professionally in my shop."
