....what era would you go to, and live in right now? What are your reasons? For me, real simple- late '60's into early 80's.......That way, I could still have both my cars, (1973 & 1979) get to experience what cruising/racing/car culture was like before "they" cracked down on everything, experience the legendary music while it was new, and......my hairstyle would actually be fashionable! :)

1960-1970. America was great, women stayed home, the middle class thrived.

Early 70s to the mid 80s. Driving my Eldo ragtop to the Disco...those were the days, plus cruising State street and Hollister Avenue in Santa Barbara and Goleta.

Late 1800's to early 1900's. Endless possibilities.

I would say mid 50's-early 70's. If you had an issue with someone, you took it outside and no one got sued. There was some common sense, you didn't have to justify everything or water it down to be pc. Cars were great, cruising wasn't outlawed, the auto was respected and essential; not demonized like many are today.

That and the abundance of high quality lsd in the 60's would have been nice.

I would hate to stay at home.

I think stay-at-home moms were a great thing. Kids (especially young kids) need a PARENT at home to teach them discipline and morals, not a daycare monitor to put them on time-out when they do something wrong.

Not only that but the stress levels for everyone were lower. The wife took care of the cooking and cleaning while the husband was at work. Nowadays marriages fail because everyone is too busy to enjoy life. There's too much to do and not enough time to do it because both partners are at work all day.

1920-1935. I think this era saw the most advancement in society

This, though me being a member of generation Y may have skewed this a touch, but I love technology...

Present time... As to support what was said above, i like technology too much and the real reason is i couldnt stand having to deal with only carbureted stuff or sub par EFI systems like in the 80s-90s...

can't believe people would pick another era because cruising wasn't outlawed :rolf What is interesting is I would bet there are just as many "muscle" cars being produced today as there were in 1970. Granted, most cars today are small displacement econo cruisers but the technology and performance that comes with even a $10,000 Kia is amazing compared to not long ago. Don't forget safety advancements too!

I think it would be badass to live in the 60s where everyone owned cars with style and it wasn't uncommon to have a BBC Chevelle with 4.88s and drive it daily!

I would have a hard time wanting to leave this era...I love all of lifes amneties. BUT, I would consider going to the 80's. Music was not that bad, cars where shit (no offense) but I would wait impatiently for the TT Z's. It is also when entrepreneurs really started to get on the map and through the 90's. Everything from the web to things that make american lives "easier".

but I love technology...

Me too, but I want more technology!

I want to go to the era where the world looks more like something out of Ghost in the Shell SAC. Ray Kurzweil places the "singularity" in about 30 years. That is where I want to be.

If not that, 1900 USA. All of the really good inventions occurred around then.

I love living in the now. It is so easy to sit around being fat playing World of Warcraft and getting drunk on the cheep.

BUT, if I had to chose a different time to live in....

It would be the 1920's and 30's. Running a speak easy in the roaring 20's would be so bad ass and exciting.

Post Depression Era. 1930s. I would be a ruthless criminal mastermind and would die in an epic gun fight with johnny law... Or stabbed in a card game.

Naw, that would be awesome though.
