I wonder how much power he was making on the dyno before it blew.

Based on the power #'s maybe... I dont see any evidence that says other than it couldnt handle what was being done to it by the owner or the puke power levels.

Those rear wheel power levels are in the 14psi (+6 psi pulley) stock eaton zone and are surpassed regularily by many people with good tunes through even the 9.75 rear and large slushbox without any failures let alone ones like this. Couple that with being in a mustang and likely a smaller rearend/trans... this thing was making SHIT power for even a stock lightning motor with a +8psi pulley. I'd have fired the tuner instantly if I got numbers like that as a result.

That or this motor was wounded in some way before even going on the dyno.

7/8 isn't bad, its times like this your really wish that motor would have just went for the gold and taken em all out, makes for a better story.

Well you cant fire the guy for making too much power (cylinder pressure) and turning the rods into question marks:rolf Thats why something the owner did has to play into this... overspeed maybe? usually rods will break high (near wrist pin) when overspeeds occur though, but what happened first you know?

Yeah I guess... possible the tuner also bumped the redline and shiftpoints well beyond capable limits. I mean he already proved his inability to tune for power lol. Was this truck blue? lol
