I need to get some professional advice on the topics. Anyone here use a bankruptcy attorney or credit counselor.

I've never been late on a payment but since I lost my job in May of this year my debt is growing and growing. Over the next month I can tell I'm not going to have enough money to pay bills. So I need to figure out what to do.

Yes I am looking for a job, just haven't had any luck yet. (ps I'm a record setting retail manager with advanced computer skills and a Bachelor of Business in IT from Marquette if you're hiring.)

Any advice on where to start?

anyone see any problem with applying for multiple openings with the same company? Looking at company X they have an opening for an account specialist (this one requires some travel) and an in house specialist that would work in the call center helping the field specialists. Either would be fine by me. Would it be ok to apply for both?

Don't go to any of those places, do it yourself. The 1st thing to do is call them (your creditors) all up and tell them what's happening. Once you stop paying they become very flexible on payment options. Your credit will be ruined of course, but when you can't pay, you can't pay, and at the end of the day, they want to get something rather than you filing bankrupcy and they get nothing. You can end up settling for well less than the amount owed, but realize anything they "write off" you will have to pay tax on as income. It's an ugly situation no matter how you cut it, but it IS better than the other option, which is bankrupcy. Good luck, having helped other people through it, it's not a fun time!

That would be a great place to get into. I have installed ALOT of their equipment and they know what they are doing over there and are very professional. If we ever had a problem they were there that day or the next at the latest.

Yeah, it seems like a good place to work.

Most companies I've talked to encourage it.

I would take any job I could get just to make some money and just keep looking for something better. Articles I have read say it is better to be working than not.....even if it is at McDonalds or wherever. Because it shows initiative that you are still trying to keep yourself on your feet.
