Remember That Red Regency Chevy on HWY?

Today while me and the guys were at Holz picking up some parts I happened to look back in the shop and see a Red Pickup up on the lift all the way at the end. After looking a little harder I noticed that it looked just like the Regency thats been on the hwy lately. So I turn around and point it out to Mark and the parts guy is like, you know the guy that drives that thing? I tell him not really but Ive seen him around.... blah blah blah.... he eventualy tells us that the truck is in the shop getting a new Tranny, Clutch, 1 tire and a bunch of other stuff. He said with 4000 miles on the clock the tranny is toast, the clutch was so bad they took pics of it, and the one tire was worn down to only 2/10" of tread. I guess when you like to do full throttle, side step the clutch from a roll eventualy that takes a toll on stuff. Sucks to see a nice truck get flogged so badly from someone that obviouly doesnt know anything about what it will do to it. Oh well thats just my $.02 though some of you might find it interesting.

That truck is owned by bansheesstang02's stepbrother. My brother works in the service department at Holz and he heard the same story.

HAHAAH yeah that guy picked it up the same night i was out with my Colorado on hwy and i raced him like 3 seperate times, yeah definatley could tell it was the first day driving stick :3gears:

I think I remeber that guy telling me he traded in an F-body to buy that truck. you would think he would realize how much he was killing that thing.... Or maybe he did and wasnt worried because he had a warrenty, lol. ??? I guess we will see by how he drives when he gets it back on the hwy.

I believe he traded in a 2000 SS droptop six speed for it. I've seen him launch at the track and he ran a 13.3 or so.

It was a 2001 auto black w/ gold top SS.

He claims he smoked ever 6 speed he ran, then the SVT WHAT Z28 6 speed ran him from a roll and pulled him :rolf

They are a 2wd reg cab shorty box Chevy and GMC regency conversion trucks. They got big bling wheels, roll pan, SS stripes, new front bumper, escalade gauges, 4.8L 5 spd, with longtube headers and straight pipes.

I don't think it is that quick. My roommate had his dad's for a week about a month ago and I rode in it a few times. Its a great sounding truck but no real get up and go. :burnout

I think Trucks or some other show did a test on the Joe Gibbs Chevy PU and ran in the 14's... And if I remember right, that truck was supercharged... Yea, the Regency ran 13.3 my a$$!!! :bsflag

Sounds like a nice truck w/ a bad driver? I wonder if they make a magnacharger or ati setup for the 4.8 that would be pretty damn sweet!
