Went to what was one of my favorite yards around here out in sullivan on Hwy18. They hardly have anything left compared to how it used to be...:crying

While I was there I took some pics of the older stuff they still have, I only got to go off to the left, not sure if the part off to the right is still open or not.

Not full like the last time I went here

Anyone ever been up to Van's in Waupun? That place was great when I was there like 10 years ago, stuff from the 30's on up. A piece of roof glass for my old Vista, the big transverse piece, for $15. Have to get up there again sometime.

I really need to get out there at some point. Got any pics of g-bodies there? :D

I went to a yard in the Fox Valley right off Lake Winnebago (Eastern side) 5-6 years ago but was cleaned up right after that. They had a few older cars 70's and maybe some 60's. But never been to a yard with that much old metal.

Those truck cabs are easily saved into a hot rod, lots of salvageable stuff there if people wanted to take the time. A few of those cars look pretty solid, of course I'm sure they would crumble with any sort of movement.

No I was going for the older stuff, G-bodies still seem newer to me since I'm getting old:rolf

They had a few G-bodies but the Hurst Olds is gone that used to be on the hill when you first walk in, in fact all that stuff there is gone:goof

Its not the g-body heaven it used to be:crying

The really old trucks did look savable at a quick look.

I know g-bodies aren't too old comparitively but long for the days when they were more plentiful at yards and out on the roads :(. I'm old enough to remember some things.

I think if I ever vacation in AZ or NM again I might have to hit up some yards just to look at older stuff and marvel at the lack of rust.

It's been years but we used to go on "family outings" to some junk yard a few hours north of Milwaukee. I was small back then so I don't remember exactly where, I'll have to ask my dad. I know they had a TON of older stuff there, some of the stuff looked like you could drive it home. We almost bought an early '60s Olds wagon out of there but decided against it because parts would've been hard to find.
