97 cobra question

installing a vortech on the cobra and broke the pipe thats part of the exhaust air diverter....soooo my question is do i need it?.....can I just plug it up and be done with it?.....the car has no cats and it doesn't need any emission testing in the future....thanks for your time

Is this the EGR tube? I don't follow what an "exhaust air diverter" is.

if it is just plug the vacum line off the egr

I think he means for the air bypass valve, and if that is the case you need that valve to prevent boost spikes and to release the pressure when you let off the gas and recirculate it into the intake pipe so that MAF signal does not get messed up.

Definitely need it recirculated in draw through.

it doesn't involve the charger...i had to move this "diverter valve" thats what they call it in the vortech instructions.....its a pipe that screws into my exhaust manifold on the passenger side then into this diverter valve as they call it....i could be wrong on the terms but either way i think its for the air pump/emissions....hopefully i can just plug it and be done with it...I was wondering if anybody heard of such a thing....thanks for the replies

I know I am diggin up an old thread but, I am curious as to how you plugged the exhaust manifold. Isn't it some kind of weird taper on the threads inside that port on the exhaust manifold?

yes plug it! doing one now on a mustang i took off and welded close
