I'm looking for recommendations for a photo gallery source for my Cub Scout Pack's website. Looking for something simple to use and something that I can possibly give parents a password to upload but only upon my approval. Any recommendations? Thanks-Dan

Picasa is good....Dan I have my ownserver space but pay the 25 bucks a year for photobucket for unlimited every thing and editing tools...make a folder for each meeting and send out a mass email..you can pw protect as well...I have 20+folders with 1000s of pics and they keep in original file size as well

Thanks, not really needing to sell prints, just looking for something I can have right on our site without redirecting people to another site to view photos.

The capability is there though and if anyone happens to want prints you don't have to do anything extra to get them the prints. They can just order them on the site.

there's some free php or java web gallery code out there. I had to do the same thing for my website a while back. Seems I found some sample code, tweaked, and re-used it all for my website in about a 30 minute period of time. The one i found required you to create your own thumbnails and name them .gif 's though, but that was easy as hell.

Downside is for uploading, you'd pretty much have to give them site FTP access to use this gallery type.

These two are open source and have been around for a long time.
