Bacon - what do YOU do with it?

Ok, for about the last 12 years of my life I had not eaten most meat (chicken was pretty much the only exception). Over the years, my friends and I have always discussed how bacon is one of the few foods that is IRREPLACEABLE.

Why? Most popular foods (burgers, hot dogs, pizza toppings, meatballs etc etc etc) have a non-meat or a poultry alternative...and many really aren't bad. Boca burgers are pretty good, and a Chicken Hotdog really has no discernable taste difference from an Oscar Meyer. But when you get to Bacon, there is no equal. Absolutely nothing touches it; the way it cooks, smells, tastes, the texture etc.
So after 12 years of Bacon abstinence, the time had come. After a slightly mind-altering experience in the morning :shades , I decided to cook up a pound of Thick cut peppered smoked Bacon. After reveling in its elemental greatness, I found myself looking for more reasons to put Bacon in things.

So there it is....what do YOU do with Bacon?

bacon wrapped water chestnuts with bbq sauce, bacon souffle, i chop it up and make chicken bacon ranch pizza, filet minoin, but just a plain ole blt is awesome too.

i think the list would be shorter if u asked what CAN'T you do with bacon

this sounds awesome...I think I have a can of water chestnuts; never knew what to use it for.


I also recently discovered that using the leftover grease to cook veggies or chicken (instead of veg oil or something like that), is freaking amazing.

BLT, bacon on burgers, in chili, bacon wrapped scallops, bacon with breakfast, bacon wrapped filet or just about any other meat, bacon on salad, on potatoes, it basically makes everything better lol.

Might be easier to ask what you DON'T do with bacon.

Honestly, (gasp) I'm not a fan of bacon by itself. However, I love putting bacon on just about any sandwich. What's really good is the combination of chicken, bacon, and ranch dressing. In fact last night at work I had a CBR wrap for lunch. A friend of mine makes hot dogs where he cuts the center open and stuffs them with bacon and cheese and those are awesome.

I recently discovered a new use for bacon. Bacon wrapped pork tenderloin on the grill. The bacon ends up nice and crispy and the tenderloin ended up being the juiciest I've ever made on the grill.

I really have to disagree with this. I CAN tell the difference between chicken dogs and the standard Oscar Meyer wiener. OM is the only brand I can eat boiled, all others need the grill. ...and veggie burgers are not possessing any win. I like bacon fried then cut up and mixed into scrambled eggs.
