WTF W-9 form for what?

This seems fishy.
I received a W9 form from my bank and they want my TIN number.

I have PNC but I had this bank when it was St. Francis back in the day... Shouldn't they have this shit already? After so many years, now I get this crap in the mail?

Just take it to the bank and ensure that its coming from them. Theres a lot of that scam crap going on with them since they keep switching names.

Its better if you take it in, because if it is a scam they can forward it to their fraud department.

Well the accounts is gonna be closed tomorrow... But with my other bank, I never received anything from them.
I'll take the form with me tomorrow to make sure though...

I've seen alot of scams using old PNC paperwork. Somehow some branches closed a few years back and alot of their letterheads and check books got out into scammers hands.
