2002 Saturn L200 - Winter beater turned DD now.

ECOTEC 2.2L power, fueled by E85. Actually my most favorite D/D/beater ive owned. Gets bomb ass mpg, handles good and is quick for what it is. These L-series cars are kind of the illigitimate love child you get when you cross a Opel Vectra and a Saab 9-5 with a saturnized look. So its an opel body, with Saab suspension and corporate GM powertrain.

Yeah they are noot good looking! The 03-05 is quite attractive looking however. I have cooper winter forces on the front of mine and that thing was unstopable this past winter.

Those Winterforce snows must make a HUGE difference. Mine is HORRIBLE in the snow. The worse vehicle that I have ever driven in the winter. And is even worse the then RWD cars I had back in the day. I couldnt believe it. Especially for a FWD vehicle.

Going to hold off on winter wheels/tires this year...pretty impressed w/ the AWD system so far. One of the better electric ones I've experienced.

Homely, but a good driving vehicle w/ the 5 speed...hand calculated a 30.2 mpg for the last tank :banana

I would NOT put it as a contender in the winter drags though even w/ winter tires.

And to answer the question about winterforce tires, they make a HUGE difference...even the insight was near unstoppable and unpassable in the snow...

I also might bring out the jeep wrangler for winter dragging duties...

It's all about the tires. The stock shit on there is horrible even in the rain. As far as I know there is no such thing as a bad winter handling car, just bad tires.

Stock kumho KH16's on my wife's Sonata are garbage in the snow but the stock Michelins i had on my other Sonata were just as damn good as 2 season old Dunlop Graspics (tested back-2-back). With crap tires you cant even move in the snow regardless of the car.

Just moments ago purchased a set of snows for the wife's car, heh. I need more room for wheel/tire storage!

'07 9-5 Aero -- Navi, Heated/Cooled Seats... It's my DD... It did phenominal in the snow last year with it's ETS and factory tires... Oh, and it's 260hp Turbo 2.3L still puts down 28mpg on the freeway through the slushbox...

Its not really a beater but more of a work horse, 07 fusion sport 5spd life is getting better for her with new job starting oct 4 she goes from 70+ mile commute to work to 12 fusion is pretty tough in snow also

'01 Taurus. My DD for the last 6 or 7 years now. My Goodyear TripleTreds are pretty much done, so I will be rocking the winter tires - Blizzaks or something similar. They were great last winter!

I have no problem with my HHR in the snow. Never got stuck in the three years i had it. I am sure the 2010 HHR will be just as good.
