I wasn't told the a server migration was happening tonight. I would of preferred it at like 1am so less people would notice.

Moving physical servers. If you are reading this that means DNS has not resolved yet for your ISP. The website can be browsed directly by this address: http://72.249.146.51/forum/ At most this will be a problem for until Tuesday morning. We forgot to change the domain's TTL before making the migration. Sorry for the inconvenience. -Admin

72.249.146.51?! Perhaps as a vacation spot.

For me, there's no place like 127.0.0.1 :durr

This is what happens when you don't do things yourself.

I got it figured out. The authoritative nameservers listed in the WHOIS did not match the DNS Zone. So effectively DNS was still looking at the old server. This should resolve soon.

Sorry guys.

Same here, still. EDIT: cleared my cache and still not seeing all avatars.

However, our DNS servers at work seem to have updated. Wonder what opendns says (What I use at home).

Do you have some SOA record problems or something? Like maybe two SOA records declared?

British_Ben

Avatars and DNS still fine for me.

I flushed all dns records for this zone, still kicks me back to good old 72.249.146.51

Not sure why it was working earlier. Maybe india is closed for the day and Babari turned the switch off when he left.

I don't understand what you are saying...

You want to resolve to 72.249.146.51.

animal
09-21-2010, 01:52 PM
I meant... the resolved site kicks me back to having to come here via IP url.

Could be a browser cache issue. Clear it and try it again.

It's not a browser cache problem, it's dns.

I'm working around it for now.

what were you using for DNS? The TTL shouldn't be that long

The 570 is how many seconds left before your DNS server re-queries the authoritative.

If you recently saw a DB error, this has been resolved. Had to tweak mysql settings for more connections than default on the new server.

If you recently saw an error with anything that means Cryptic sucks at the interwebs
