Not sure if I should be happy or disappointed. Really didn't expect to get it for what it went for. Looks like a pretty decent deal.

Looks like a nice car, you just missed Wheels dad's car, that also was blue with a 351 fuel injected with a 5 speed.

I bid before asking the proper ?'s other than not being a roller cam engine I like it just fine. I will just get a nice solid roller, and maybe the new Victor CNC heads.....

Nice car. Good color. Seems like a decent deal. Just not into the notch body style. I know they're lighter and all, but I can't get past the fact they they look like a Dodge Aries K-car to me. Oh well, to each their own. I'm sure it's going to be a fun ride. :shades

Well it looks like u got a better deal then my buddies carbed hatch.

I would hook up the heater core so it dont look so butch. I got a bud sellling some trick flow heads off his 351 I can get the specs from him. If ya lookin.

If ya driving that thing back you better have a good gas card.

Like 80 #'s lighter doesn't make much of a difference. I think the notch is the modern 55' Chevy

80 pounds off of the wrong end.

What does that make the hatchback? The '57 Chevy?

Thank you Power Guru. I assume this opinion is based on your years of experience building fast street cars?

Yep, even with my Blue car I would put (2) 50# bags of sand in the spare tire well. Weight transfer was alot better and car went faster.

The appeal of the notch really has nothing to do with weight. Trunks flex a ton less then hatches and while you can add bars to correct it, that is more weight.

Yeah, but if you drag race and your junk is fast, you have to put bars in it anyway. Go quicker than 10 flat and you have to have a full certified cage, so why not just get what you like and not worry about the trivialities. Not to mention that a hatch has to be a shit-ton easier to put the back half of the cage in than a notch. Billy Glidden runs a hatch, as does Bob Kerwein, Bob Kurgan, Mike Post and David Wolfe. I'm not making a case strictly for hatchbacks, just making the point that you can go fast regardless of which body style you like. Like I said, to each their own.

Ok, enough thread Hijackery.

From a racecar stand point, neither the hatch or the notch have any major advantages over the other. Sure there is a LITTLE give and take here and there, but there are plenty of famous foxes that are notches. For instance, David Hance, John Urist, BD--Dwayne Gutridge, Mike Murillo, Chris Little, Dwayne James, Sam Vincent, Manny Buginga etc.

I do believe that's what I said. Twice. And now thrice: Buy the style you like and don't sweat the trivial stuff, because in the long run, none of it matters except what YOU like :thumbsup

He prob didn't get what he thought it was worth so he is refusing to honor the deal by not responding to emails. Just to shit in his Wheaties I would threaten him with interstate commerce fraud just to be a dick. If your going to post it on ebay ya need to honor the sale.

The RX7 with the LS1 has plenty of room for the Twins. :thumbsup
