My buddy had a 3000gt and I swear he broke a trans almost everytime he went to the track. He was sick of buying trans for it so he sold the pit. In the end I think he said he went through about 11 transmissions. Weak transmission plus 4000lb awd car =kaboom.

Yeah it was awesome when it wasn't broken. Unfortunately it was often broken lol.

I remember they were heavy for the time...but I thought it was down around 3600lbs or something. I wouldn't necessarily think that such a car would be as heavy as a fullsize v8 Chrysler 300C of today...

Yes with me in it. I seem to remember the 1st gen with the AWS and etc. were like 3850 or something so yeah.

The first gen in partcular had a ton of junk - all wheel steering, active exhaust, ECS, climate control, you name it. Not to mention all the turbo pipng and AWD system stuff.
