What to do.....

Well this thread is about my truck and the running boards that are on it. I have hated them for a long time now and I should have taken them off a looooong time ago but didnt. Well now the paint is bubbling and rusting.

My dilema is should I take them off and see whats underneath and if its not too bad leave them off?

or

Just leave them on and deal with it.

Its not rusting on the front fenders from what I can see. Just the rears and also the typical spots on silverados on the bottom of the doors.

imop i would leave em on, if u take em off its just gonna be pure rust. with pullin the flair im almost positive some of the paint is going to come with it..

I think those are called rocker panels, the running boards would be the steps to the side of them.
Do you plan on repairing it ever? If you do then you might as well do it now, but if you plan on leaving it I would just leave them the way they are now. If you pull them off, your definitely going to find more rust.

I know the rockers are rusted, the part im talking about taking off is the running boards which go down the whole length of the truck which include the fender flares because its rusting underneath.

leave it on. unless you plan on fixing the rust and repainting..

imo i would leave them on gonna be a big mess if u pull them off

Leave them on. I had the exact same thing on my truck, took them off only to find that it was completely rusted through!

I'd leave em on if you're not going to have it repaired. But if you going to repair it I'd do it soon, before they rust through.
