OK, first off, I'm not affiliated with anyone in any way. OK, I bought these HIDs off ebay for the wife's Grand Cherokee. Its a 9006 bulb, I bought the 4300K kit for $32 shipped. The seller's ebay name is hidfusionstore. I ordered late Monday night, they shipped on Tuesday, on my doorstep Thursday. Sorry for the shitty iPhone pictures.

Opened up the box:

HID is on the passenger side:

Install took me maybe 15 minutes total. I was lucky enough to find a vid of some guy doing a Grand Cherokee install so I had a head start, but there was nothing to it.

All in all I gotta say I'm pleased with these, especially for just over $30. They take a second or 3 to warm up, theyre not real bright initially but by the end of the driveway they are pretty nice. I think I'm gonna get 2 sets for my quad, that has projectors in it so they should be even better.

my buddy paid $45 from the link that was on here, he bought two sets... hes had them over a year and went through one stator or power supply or w.e they use... he called them, had a new one in less then three days free of charge.... they work great, he loves em... and the no questions asked lifetime warranty that he paid an extra $10 a set for paid off. pretty impressive for imported chinese stuff

What is the wattage of these compared to a standard 9006 bulb? 55w is a standard (legal max) low beam.

iirc should be a 35w

you can choose between 35w and 55w. the higher wattage ballast tend to wash out the color a bit more too.

Correct, these are 35w. I didn't want to get the 55s and have everyone flashing her.

I don't believe the hype.

I ordered a set of 5k 9007 Hi/lo kit from www.ddmtuning.com I am very impressed with this kit. Came to about $70 shipped, because of the extra box you have to add one because they are a single hi/lo bulb.

Think i am going to order a set of 3k 35w's for my fogs.

I just bought and received 4 more HID kits from different eBay vendors, I bought the foglights for my F150, some hi beams for her Jeep and 2 sets for my Renegade. I believe the hype, for $40 you can't find a better upgrade..

I paid $55 shipped for my bi-xenon hi/lo kit for my truck.

Do yourself a favor and go to the retrofitsource.com and get a real xenon conversion with projectors. For $200 some dollars you have the REAL thing like an acura or BMW.

To each his own. Like I said, for the price of regular replacement bulbs you can have generic HIDs. Will I regret buying the cheapies? Possibly, only time will tell I guess...

I tried an ebay chinese hid kit in the old rx7 with halogen projectors. The ballasts were very noisy, occasionaly they would not fire up and didn't like the fact that the light "spillage" was annoying to other people. If I were to do it again I would go with a projector designed for the hid.

If pissing other drivers off is not a concern, go nuts, they are definitely brighter.

Properly aimed headlights will also cure that. I haven't been flashed once and my truck sits higher than most cars. Don't aim them in peoples eyes and there is no problem.

Point being that the housings were never intended for HID's. There's people that get paid lots of money because believe it or not, there's a crap load of engineering and science behind proper headlights. If your happy with the results then great, but by no means are these comparable to an OEM system.

I agree with what you guys are saying, the reflector housings are no comparison to a projector with HIDs. My point was that for the same price as replacing halogen bulbs you can have cheap Chinese HIDs and if you aim them properly you don't piss people off. For $40-$50 these can't be beat. I don't think anybody is foolish enough to think of these as OEM quality setups, but for the price they are better for improving headlight performance on most vehicles.
