Not sure if this is a repost or not:

I love...

50, 41, 39, 35, 33(for some odd reason), and of course 20.

How the hell did the skyline end up at 7 and the Ur-Quattro at 49?

Bogus list!

Honestly, I think the Miata should be #1 due to it being at just about every race day event.

Glad to see the Pantera make the list. It's pretty good overall. Anytime you do a list le this you will catch flak for what's on it or not on it

I didn't see a Skyline on the list anywhere...just a GTR at #7. ;)

And yes I agree the Miata should be at least in the top 5.

I don't think I can argue the 911 though.

i can't really argue with the cars on the list it self. just where they put someone them.

BS List.

I didn't say I agree'd with the list. Just saw it on another forum and thought I'd post it up.

I was suprised the Jaguar XJ220 wasn't on the list, nor the Ferrari Testarossa. I guess that their interiors are not pretty enough to match the exterior. Oh wait....that could be said for alot of the cars on this list.

I am fine with the list; not all the placements, but as long as the Ford GT40, Ferrari F40, Ferrari F430 and the McLaren F1 are on the list, I am happy. Bummed the Ferrari 458 Italia wasn't on the list.

BS List.

???

It seems most of the heavy hitters are on there, including some fairly obscure yet awesome ones like the Lancia stratos. I can't hate on it, my junk made the list twice (s2000 and cobra).:goof

I think the Cobra should be number 1 and the Original GT 40 should be much higher on the list then it is because of the cool story behind it. Also, no Daytona?

I love that Lancia! Was watching some youtube videos of ones in the UK. They are sweet.

Same thing in my book. The car has only been on the market for a few years anyway. How can it be in the top 10?

the thing about lists like this one are they are made by a few guys...well it's pretty obvious that these "few" let their favorite cars sway how they made the list. Someone else could make the same exact list and use 50 completely different cars.

#34 959 My personal favorite, such a gorgeous car.

Not to mention the Zonda. But the list did seem to be missing some cars. More like a list 50 great cars, certainly not my top 50, but pretty notable entries did make it.

Lots of other sports cars are just as memorable or iconic. These lists are very subjective, in otherwords it's all opinion of the writers of said list. I would add these
MG TC
MG TD
MGB
MG Midget
Austin Sprite
Austin Healey 100/6
Aston Martin DB5
Jaguar D- type
Kaiser Darrin
Porsche 356C
Any Alfa
Any Maserati
Sunbeam Alpine/Tiger
Renault Alpine 211 ( I think that's the # designation)
Muntz Jet
and a shit load of others I can't think of right now

I'm honestly disappointed that the 1st-gen RX7 isn't on there. It was, and still is, hailed as a great sports car. Where's the 240Z? The Triumph Spitfire? The AH Sprite and MGB belong on that list as well.

There are certainly some cars missing, but none I could find to disagree with on the list.

1st Gen RX7? :confused

I'd take a REPU over a 1st gen RX7.

It was quick, light and extremely nimble... you know, like a sports car. The 2nd gen is the black sheep of the family.

I was pointing out that it's not a Skyline, it's a GTR. The GTR DEFINITELY deserves to be on that list with out a doubt.

Where's the 240Z? .

This is a car that should definitely be on there. I mean Japanese sports cars weren't even imaginable in the US before the 240Z. And how about the fact that it almost entirely took over British sports car sales here.

Yeah, I think a car that's won as many races as the 911 has with the history it has should take a backseat to something else...

Yes, a car that provided all kinds of affordable and reliable fun. Of course, the previous Fairlady roadsters, the 1600 and the 2000 were doing what the brits could only think of. The Fairlady's design actually predated the MGB. BTW, the 240Zs were called Fairlady in Japan. Not a name that inspired the Sterling Moss or Paul Newman in all of us. Back to British cars, I forgot to add Triumph GT6+ and the Spitfire.

Spot on, only rank on the list I could definitely agree with. Porsche built the same damn 911 for over 20 years, and it was always close to its competition, speaks volumes about the car. Looks, history, and great driveability; definitely a winner.

My point exactly. Even if you follow the 911 through present (993/996 variations) it's still a very similar car as it started. Just more refined, and better as time has gone on.

If you've ever driven a 911 Turbo, 911 C4S, or even just a 911 Convertible... You'll understand why it would trump the rest of the cars on the list.
