Just wanted to make a post for all you BBQ lovers out there on BCM and I know there is quite a few....this place has a killer pulled pork sandwich. HUGE! One of the best I have ever had. They make their own BBQ sauce also in 4 flavors. I really liked the House sauce. Excellent flavor. The Mad Dawg Memphis Hot or whatever they call it is very good also. Located on Sunset in Waukesha across from KMart. Tried it today for the first time and I am hooked. I want to go back for the ribs and brisket sandwich next! :headbang

Really good BBQ is sooo hard to find in Wisconsin, so I'll definitely check this place out at some point.

Not to step all over your thread, but my friend just opened his BBQ restaurant. I believe it's only carry out, but I don't remember. It's called Paulee's Barbacoa. It on 92nd street between Oklahoma and Beloit on the west side of the street. It's in the same building as George Webbs.

Yep, Speed Queen rocks.

Too bad the lady who started it died a few months ago.

I've been meaning to try speed queen. I work at the county jail and have been told it's not to far from there. I just never work up the ambition to go someplace right after work.

I have heard Speed Queen is pretty good but Pat's pulled pork is gonna be hard to beat. Smoked to perfection, excellent sauces and for a reasonable price. The only thing NOT going for Pat's is the location. I think Pat's should be more in the "city" not Waukesha....IE Milwaukee. Not sure too many Waukesha-ians eat BBQ lol

Have to give it a try. After seeing all the BBQ places on Food Network I always end up for a craving for it.

And nothing wrong with the location. Waukesha needs more stuff, I hate having to go into Milwaukee for anything.

I was first one in the door today. Friendly, received my food quickly, and the pulled pork sandwich was unbelievably good! Plus 4 different sauces to choose from, it was hard to pick a favorite, but I decided on the house sauce. I'll definitely be going back there!

The house sauce is really good. They make a great sandwich

My g/f and I went there the other day for the first time. She had the pulled pork and I had ribs. The house sauce is awesome. We put it on everything, the meat, the fries, even the fried string beans we ordered (also excellent by the way).

The price is nice too. I mean for $8 you get a big sandwich, fries, beans and cole slaw. What more could you want?

We were looking for a place to go tonight so got Cureen & Hannah in the car and off we went. Took just about a hour to get there. Was TOTALLY WORTH IT!!!

Damned pulled pork sandwich is incredible. House sauce is already said to be good but you gotta try it. We had a full meal for the 3 of us for just about $21. Every single person going out of that place took a minute to let her know how much they enjoyed the food

We will be going back there again.

someone told her about this website cause she has been reading this post. mentioned her reputation growing in another way and she mentioned she had read it yesterday and also noticed some loved tossed to speed queen and was very polite about that place but obviously preferred her own. Once she mentioned that I knew she was not full of you know what.

She remembers everyone's name too thats a talent I dont have.

BTW......WTF is a briscuit? Is that the next one to try?

Doc Brown
08-24-2010, 10:39 PM
Brisket is basically a large slab of beef sliced into thin strips. Usually it is not the leanest cut available, but as long as its done right and not excessively fatty it can be some of the best bbq you've had. Brisket is probably the most popular BBQ cut across Texas, IMO.

Since I was the first one in her place the other morning I had time to talk to her a little bit and showed the site to her. It is sooo hard to find a good BBQ place like this that I figured she'd like to know that support for her efforts extend beyond traditional word of mouth. It seems like all of the other good BBQ places are either too far or have closed, and a show of support such as this might prevent another good one from disappearing in the future.

I am surprised she remembered the site name, though, and reads the thread, lol. That can only be a good thing as it affords her a look at her business through unfiltered praise and criticisms, and maybe she can even implement a suggestion or two down the road.

I've not had Pat's brisket but I can tell you that brisket is good as hell. Super tender and juicy (when done right) and plenty flavorful.

You are right...brisket shouldn't be too fatty as it can take from the enjoyment. But it does need to be pretty fatty for good texture...

What are the style/type BBQ sauces this place has? I might have to make it out there for lunch next week...

MoCkiN U
08-25-2010, 07:23 PM
sauces on bottom left. You can sample each one there plus they have each on the table there. Warn you, its a small place. If going at peak time finding table might be a small issue if dining in.
