Got rid of the fox after throwin the idea around for about a year now and bit the bullet on an STi

well it was 6 hours there and about 7.5 on the way back got stuck in Chitcago almost rear ended 3-4 times, cut off by a fucking gas tanker and almost side swiped. Also managed to get a rock chip in the windshield with int the first hour of owning it. The car is a blast I'm not gonna lie though I'm horrible at driving it the 3 puck clutch is grab and go which is what the mustang was but cable vs hydraulic is a huge difference. I let my buddy who drives them daily for work take me for a ride and the car is FAST pulls way harder then the fox did.

Most everything done to it but forgetting a few things and he threw in the Tien lowering springs but I don't think I'm gonna use them because looks like it will scrape coming into my drive way

forged internals, new crank rods all that
CP Forged pistons
ARP studs through out
09 Oil pump blue printed
Bigger oil cooler
Butterfly plate removed, polished and ported to match intake
Intake ported
CP Intercooler piping
VF39 Turbo
SS 3" catless TBE solid 3" ss all the way back sounds AWESOME
aftermarket intake
Factory fuel system, injectors are at 49% of their potential
19.5lbs for a conservative tune
new brembos 10k on em
ACT 1 clutch, new OEM Flywheel
Gen 2 block halves
Speed industries tuned/machined

all parts only have about 7500 on them and it was mechanic owned.

Ordering Rota Grids probably next week, thinking about taking it to AMS not completely sure though after the hell/tolls that I want to go back that way

it's dirty and the engine bay needs to be cleaned but I'm very happy with it pulled about 27-28mpg on the way home with it. It's hard drivining around town and not gettting into boost it spools fast.

For what ever reason my camera went to cell phone quality but heres the pics nothing special

Looks nice! Sounds like plenty of stuff done to it to keep you relatively content.

Congrats, very cool car. I wonder why he built the engine for a VF39? I thought the stock engine is pretty stout as is.

Maybe j will chime in.

he planned on making it the shops race car but found out his camaro would make more power with the turbo setup so he had to sell this or the camaro.

It's built to handle well over what is being thrown at it. As said it's keeping me content the way it is, driving a turbo awd car is so much different then the mustang. But i'm already looking into GT35r setups for it and thinking about brining it down to AMS get retuned and more boost out of it and actually find out what it's putting down for power

looks like a fun car for sure. Has the right stuff ready for upgrading. A nice GT35r set up would be a lot of sun with that motor for sure. How does it run right now with the small turbo? Has to spool like it has a blower lol

Yes I did not sure how old he was, he's a bit younger and he lives in plymouth.

The car runs awesome right now but like I said the turbo spools so damn fast cause it's small.

Looks nice..............The engine does look dirty.

How many miles? And how much did the STi cost? And why not go to P and L for the tune, Jorge is the best around? Don't get me wrong AMS is good also!!!!!

Before 10,000 miles I could get 13.2's at GLD and then didn't go back until I had around 46,000 on mine and she ran 13.1, my car is bone stock, just and FYI and 1.7 60 foot times, and 1.7 60 foot times can kill most cars off the line!!!!!

AMS does good work, they did an E85 tune on my evo i had and it was worth every penny. Chris is a pretty cool guy also.

Beyond Redline in Green Bay also has an AWD dynojet. They do tunning as well.

If you really want to have some fun look into running E85 and crank the boost up. Man i really miss my car now:goof

I've been researching WRX's, STIs and Saab 92Aeros for so many weeks now my brain is stuffed.........just what I needed is the pics to get my brain rolling again!

Dream: low milage 2006 Aero 5spd 2.5 or a 2002-2003 bugeye 2.0 wagon for a 5speed build. Im too old for a STI, need to debadge and dewing it for a Imprezza sleeper look ;)

lol, they are priced nearly identical and i'm sure the insurance is the same. I bought the evo i had for 21k when i was 23 and it was only about 100 a month for full coverage.

thanks guys.

Evo had way higher insurance I was looking at Evo 9s and it was almost 2 grand a year where as the STi is like 1100 or something .

also every evo i looked at had been driven to hell asking 20k+

I know they are about the same price. I was disagreeing with the fact that youngins can't afford them. I see young guys in evos all the time! I bought my STi new at 25. It's not a cost thing. The sti just appeals to an older crowd.
