I have had a set of these for about 14 years now. They fucking rock. They were demoted to garage stereo duty when the home theater went in. Fantastic at overpowering the neighbor's carnival music.

I have them running on an old a$$ denon receiver that puts out about 50watts per channel, so im sure you have enough power. The sound bada$$ with that, ive heard them with much much more power, they handle alot.

I had a pair of those when they were still called American Acoustics Labs. Not too bad for the money.

I had the single 12 version of these way back when. MTX made a great product in those days. These have to just pound with the dual 12s. But don't rule out the highs also!!! These are great speakers! Good luck with your sale!

With a pre-amp they will shake your house. My test movie is always days of thunder when cruise first gets in the car and says "im droppin the hammer" I crank that up when someone wants to hear the speakers and everyone is like wow thats loud.

just looked at the speakers i have in the basement now they are... AAL 154 250wats..with on 15" woofer in each and they are mtx...these hooked up to a 400watt receiver where crazy loud and sounded good for what they where....so i can assume these would be AMAZINGLY loud with a good power source...ttt for ya!

My friend has these and they literally shake the ENTIRE 4 unit apartment complex he lives in with a basic Kenwood receiver. I would not think twice about buying these if living in a house at least a mile away from neighbors.....:goof

Do you still have your mtx aal 2230 speakers? I am very interested. I used to have a pair of them several years ago but they where stolen. I know from experience they kick out the sound. The more power the better. And an equalizer really perfects them. Mine where almost the same except for a squiggly line on each dust cover like a heart beat rite in the center of each 12. Could you send a pic of the rear. I would like to see if yours have the large dual ports at the bottom. Thank you for your time.
