I swear I see more riced up 05 and up Mustangs now then I see tacky imports. Has JC Whitney come out with a catalog for them or something? It seems like for every 1 done tastefully, there's atleast 15 of them that are just gaudy as can be.

People just because you can stick self adhesive chrome crap on your car, doesn't mean by law you have to.

I honestly just saw about 200 cars in Fond du Lac, all tastefully done. You must be hanging in the wrong neighborhoods. Out near Oconomowoc it's all stock GT500s.

That wasn't a rip on Mustangs. It's a rip on the people making them look like shit. I'm seeing more and more of them with chrome fender trim, chrome caps on the side mirrors, chrome handles, etc.

has to do with ford selling about a billion v6 mustangs, even before the new v6 came out that actually is a decent motor. if i remember right they sold more SN95 v6 cars then v8s, but theres a good chance i'm wrong on that.

I wouldn't say civics.. None can take that title.. but I agree, many are taking it overboard..

Clearly they are up there, along with (unfortunately) the Scion tC... I've been seeing a lot of 1st-gen Neon rice lately too.

Scions, civics, neons, v6 mustangs? Well, this is what you get when cars are affordable. If they paid over $11K I bet they wouldn't ugly it up, might take some pride in it...

That's not the case, remember the guy with the 350Z? My g/f's next door neighbor has a 350Z as well that is pretty nice except he put 22's on it. Not even decent 22's but bling-bling 22's.

Diesels are the new civics.

Diesels are the new civics.

+1 Most of them that I've encountered while driving the Cobra seem to think that I need to spend hours scrubbing the soot off of my interior. I had a lifted dark blue Ford brake boost next to me multiple times on hwy 100 for no reason

Although there does seem to be a plethera of other cars that are making their way into that genre, including mustangs.[/

The v6 always outsells the v8, about 5 to 1.

I think it's because people are trying to mimic the 60's vintage. They had trim around grill openings, windshields etc. A little is fine. I agree it can be overdone.

I thought PT Cruisers were the new Civics. Did you ever see the doodads available for those? They even tried to sell them for the HHR. I have not boogered mine up.

OK, I submit to this thread. I saw a Mustang today, S197 Vert with chrome dish spinners on Capitol and Lily. Time to get a Porsche Cayenne S. I've never seen one of those riced.
