I heard many things about both tires, so what do you people run and think. What one last longer, what hooks better, etc.

Street --> Nittos
Strip--->BFG's

From my OWN experiences, I will never use a BFG on the street for a daily driver again but I would have no issues with a Nitto.

I've run both in a couple different sizes. I like the Nittos much better. Both hooked about the same, but the Nittos lasted longer than the BFGs. Nittos were also much better in the rain. I had a Mustang that was my daily, which had Nitto's on it from April to November. They saw track duty, street, rain, and some snow even(.5"). Great tire.

Are you thinking of running a DR on the TSi or a different car? If the TSi...go with the Nitto. Better wet traction which you'll need if you're going to mount them up front.

i ran the Nittos at the track with good experience with them, ripped off 1.7xx 60's with the GTP. BFG's dont work well of the GTP's not sure about other cars though.

Just like yoosof said.

nittos will last longer during everyday street use. they can hook just as hard, it's all a matter of chassis setup. at most levels you won't find a difference. i run BFG DR's all the time. I will be buying a set of the M/T Drag Radials when my BFG's get worn out. Nitto doesn't have the sizes available that I run (325/50/15) so it's not really a matter of choice for me. Although if they did have that size I probably still wouldn't run a Nitto just for the sake of I want that I know I can count on the BFG's from my experiences.

Well overall im happy with the Nitto's... I ran them last year (275-40-17) and got about 10K hard miles out of them and they hooked OK but i had less power then too.

This year i stepped up to 315-35-17's which are quite a bit wider and it with the addition of stiffer suspension and drive shaft and clutch that apply power better i have a hell of a time keeping them from spinning like hell when trying to launch. This year they seem to be wearing a little more too w/ less than a dozen burnouts on them.

Over all im happy with them but i havent ran the BFG's to compare.

But for me i need an actual slick to hook the car up and latley ive been overcoming those too :confused

i have a set of nittos, very streetable, but now that i have an extra set of wheels will probably go to some hoosier quick time pro's or et streets for the strip.

I know a 64 Buick Skylark (?) that hooks better on the street with BFG Comp T/A Drag Radials than almost any other car I can think of on HWY 100... 60's better than 1.5. So it is possible to hook up quite well using Drag Radials.

My only problem with the Nittos is that they don't come in the sizes I want. The only option I have with them is to use wheel spacers, and I'm not really down with that.

Do you have a set of Lower control arm relocation brackets?

I can do low 1.7 or high 1.6(on a good day), 60ft, on BFG Drag Radials and that is on a 255/50/16 with 10lbs of air in each tire.

:3gears:

Not bad I think. However I never tried Nitto's.
