i know pypes exhaust systems arent the highest of quality but i was just wondering ifanyone on here has had any expierience with the systems. they have a stainless header back for 405 bucks. is it worth it for this system or is it worth it t pay a little more for a name?

Any sub-par material built exhaust will suffer the same issues. With any moisture or salt, they will come to a premature end. Also they have a tendency to change sound as they "burn in" or oil makes its way to the packing material and they burn out.

I bought some Cherry Bomb Axle backs for my Mustang, which were "sub-par" and dirt cheap. I love the sound and since I only drive in Summer and when the weather permits, I have had no issues.

You get what you pay for, but you don't need Winter gloves in June.

Pypes is a decent name from all I've heard. We put a kit on my buddies 71 442 and they fit nice. Had one pipe damaged in shipping and they took care of it no questions asked. The exhaust on Beckys car is just bent pipes, probably 15 years old and still in great shape. Not driven in the elements it should last awhile.

Talk to Ron Michael about pricing on getting exhaust done on the car. The benefit with going that route is it will be custom fit to the car. Then you can compare pricing on custom versus ready-made exhaust

Tom at OTE just installed a Pypes 3" stainless steel header-back system on my '67 GTO.

The materials quality is good, the header pipes, x-pipe, and mufflers all fit perfectly. The tailpipes, not so much. Each of the pre-bent tailpipes had to be cut into 5 pieces and re-welded to fit perfectly. It would have been just as easy to make custom tailpipes. Your mileage may vary.

I got an x-pipe and "Violator" mufflers. It sounds awesome.

Pypes is better quality than blowmaster.
