just amazing.

the idiot in the py cruiser should have their license Revoled!
you know what, i make mistakes too!
BUT,
there is no, NO excuse for driving through a Red Light,
like the PT cruiser did,
when there was a Car already stopped at the red light!

with that Video as Proof,
that driver should be charged with Manslughter,
or at least have their license suspended for 5 years!

Holy smokes!!!! :wooo :stare :crying

That's kind of disturbing to watch. It would have been really tough to live through that one.

Mike a little warning that a padestrian(sp) was hit would have been nice.

It's ok, just not something I really wanted to be reminded of.

They cannot take someones licence away perminantly, they can only suspend it. The person driving is the only one that can remove their own licence. Believe me....I know.

It never ceases to amaze me at how many idiots drive PT Cruisers. My first car was totalled by an old lady driving one, drove straight thru a red light that had been red for at least 5 seconds. :guns1

Looks like the crossing traffic would have came close to hitting the kid on foot without help from the PT. That kid should not have been crossing if the PT's light was red. Right? I hate watching videos like that... :puppyeyes

hey, Mopar Scott,
you are very observant!
i noticed that too, that the Idiot Pedestrian was walking against a RED LIGHT,
and it looks like he would have close to getting hit anyway, by the car that rolled.

That is Another one of my pet peaves,
Idiots walking in the road
when they are not supposed to be there!

The Road is for the Cars,
the Sidewalks & Grass is for the people/pedestrians!!!!!!!

Hold on just a min!!!!!

The light is green for the PT!!! the escort wagon is stopped to turn left!! and his light was about to turn green.

look at the set of lights accross the street by the oncoming traffic that is stopping, the two lights are green!

The Subuaru Forester that got T boned is the one who ran a light, look at it this way: the subie was going WAY to fast and these other cars were just first stopping, meaning the light for the subie would have not changed to green yet, the subie was hauling ass it ran the red light and the PT just happend to be coming through as the the subie blew the light. and this is why the guy was walking in the cross walk too, i bet he had a WALK light!

Hey Tom,
from my view point,
the Escort Is STOPPED, as soon as the video started,
Because the Light is RED,
and to further support that, the Oncoming traffic that comes into view is Stopping for a Red Light.
The Subie had the Green light!

IMHO.
:stare

also, i tried to see if is could see colors on the OVER HEAD Hanging stop lights, and i can see which lights are on. Can You?

It seems like the overhead stop lights are facing the opposite way. We can only see the backs.

You guys arent seeing the right lights....

Yeah the ones in front of teh camera are not viewable.

The ones accross the street directly in front of where the guy is walking are green there is two of them, they are on poles not suspended but they are further back near the oncoming traffic not the two right in front of the guy.

The escort is in a turn lane naturally it will be sitting for a while.

im still convinced the other car that got nailed was the one who ran the light, too many facts like the cars just first coming up to the other side and teh guy walking accross the street at that exact time and how fast the subaru was going.

Maybe im just seeing **** LOL ??? :rolf

Actually, I think tom might be partly right...I think what looks like it's happening is that the escort is waiting for a red light to go green...the driver in the pt can see from his vantage point the lights turning for the other traffic and times it so that it just turns green as he pulls up.

The reason I say this is look at the traffic heading toward the camera...they ARE slowing down...but the beige car looks almost as if it is about to do a slow roll through as well, but then when it sees the accident hits the brakes hard, hence the suspension bounce. Had it not been it is unlikely that he/she would have just planned to stop that hard for no other reason as he/she ended up on the stop line as it is, if not a little past it.

The subbie is probably just trying to beat yellow and is late by a second...in area's like southern cali, there is NO interval between red on one dirction and the green for the other direction like there is here. As soon as one turns red, the other is green.

eh fwiw, has anyone heard the real story?
